To design, implement, and optimize Azure-based solutions for client projects, focusing on DevOps practices and engineering excellence. This role will encompass cloud architecture, infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, and automation to ensure scalability, performance, security, and compliance of client systems. The position will drive the development of efficient, cost-effective, and reliable Azure infrastructure that enables rapid deployment and enhances the value of our clients' digital assets.


Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in database administration and data engineering roles.
  • Strong proficiency in Azure services, including compute, storage, networking, and identity
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (ARM templates, Terraform, Bicep)
  • Expertise in CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (Git)
  • Strong knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash)
  • Experience with monitoring and logging solutions in Azure
  • Understanding of security best practices and compliance requirements in cloud environments
  • Proven experience in client-facing roles, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience in conducting technical assessments and providing recommendations for cloud migration and optimization
  • Experience with other cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) for multi-cloud strategies
  • Knowledge of database technologies and data engineering concepts
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies
  • Experience in creating and delivering technical training materials and presentations
  • Familiarity with change management practices to support organizational adoption of new technologies
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across departments
  • Self-motivated and proactive in identifying and addressing data-related issues
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on data quality and integrity
  • Adaptable to changing technologies and business requirements
  • Strong consulting skills with the ability to build trust and credibility with clients
  • Excellent presentation skills and the ability to adapt communication style to different audiences
  • Patient and enthusiastic approach to knowledge sharing and mentoring
  • Expertise utilizing Databricks within an Azure Stack

Job Responsibilities

  • Azure Infrastructure Design: Architect and implement scalable, secure Azure solutions tailored to client needs. Select and configure appropriate Azure services for optimal performance and cost-effectiveness
  • Infrastructure as Code: Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, Terraform, or Bicep to ensure consistent and repeatable deployments
  • CI/CD Pipeline Implementation: Design and implement robust CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions to automate build, test, and deployment processes for client applications
  • Containerization and Orchestration: Implement containerisation strategies using Docker and orchestrate with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) or Azure Container Instances (ACI)
  • Monitoring and Logging: Set up comprehensive monitoring and logging solutions using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics to ensure system health and performance.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement Azure security best practices, including identity and access management, network security, and data protection. Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Cost Optimisation: Continuously analyze and optimize Azure resource usage to minimize costs while maintaining performance and reliability
  • Automation: Develop PowerShell scripts and Azure Automation runbooks to automate routine tasks and improve operational efficiency
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with client teams, developers, and other stakeholders to align Azure infrastructure with application requirements and business goals
  • Client Consultation: Engage directly with clients to understand their business needs, assess their current infrastructure, and propose tailored Azure solutions that align with their goals and budget
  • Training and Workshops: Develop and deliver training sessions and workshops on Azure technologies and DevOps practices for both internal teams and client personnel
