Join the Close Brothers Data Engineering team where you will leads on developing robust and agile data engineering and data modelling processes, advising on standards, methods, tools and techniques.

Working as part of the Data Engineering team, our ideal team member will have previous experience in a business intelligence / analytics environment with excellent prioritisation skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Defines and manages scoping, requirements definition and prioritisation activities for initiatives of medium size and complexity
  • Facilitates input from stakeholders, provides constructive challenge and enables effective prioritisation of requirements
  • Plans and drives the development of data engineering solutions ensuring that solutions balance functional and non-functional requirements
  • Investigates enterprise data requirements where there is some complexity and ambiguity
  • Plans own data modelling and design activities, selecting appropriate techniques and the correct level of detail for meeting assigned objectives
  • Leads the assessment, analysis, development, documentation and implementation of changes
  • Leads the assessment, analysis, planning and design of release packages, including assessment of risk
  • Liaises with business and technology teams on release scheduling and communication of progress. Conducts post-release reviews

WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF:

  • You have previous experience working in a business intelligence / analytics environment
  • You have experience of implementing various data platform architectures, data lakes and data warehouses
  • You are competent in the use of CDC and ETL / ELT tools such as HVR and Informatica
  • You demonstrate a high level of creativity, drive, innovation and initiative; a self-starter with a constant desire to learn
  • You approach problems systematically and objectively, analyses facts and evaluates options, draws sound conclusions
  • You collaborate openly and effectively across functions to deliver change

IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU:

  • Have a strong background in rectifications and customer harm treatment in remediation situations is highly desired. This position involves working with a virtual team, collaborating with cross-functional departments and third parties, managing business priorities, responding to regulatory outputs and ensuring the efficient and effective implementation of remediation strategies in which data is an integral theme and enabler
  • Have experience of implementing and supporting cloud data platforms such as Snowflake
  • Have Financial Services domain knowledge
