Role overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Lead Data Analyst to join the Business Planning Group (BPG) team. This position will be key in leading the creation and build-out of a standardised reporting and operational service offering for Shared Services.

This role will leverage the established experience and developed approaches of the BPG team to guide the development and implementation of consistent reporting frameworks, system administration processes, and capacity planning models across Sheffield and other Shared Service centres including US; driving measurable business impact, operational efficiency and decision transparency.

The role will lead cross-functional initiatives, influence senior stakeholders and ensure consistency, governance and continuous improvement across Shared Service Centres working toward a fully standardised and globally integrated operating model.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, implementation and governance of standardised MI and performance reporting frameworks across Shared Service Centres
  • Translate operational data into commercially relevant insights that directly support leadership decision-making
  • Establish and maintain KPI definitions, reporting standards and data governance controls to ensure consistency across regions
  • Identify recurring inefficiencies within reporting, workforce planning and system administration processes and implement sustainable improvements
  • Own the roadmap for reporting enhancements, ensuring alignment with firm standards and transformation priorities
  • Lead small cross-functional initiatives related to reporting standardisation, automation and operational optimisation
  • Provide structured mentorship and workflow oversight to junior analysts within the team
  • Present complex analytical findings clearly to senior operational leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Identify operational risks within reporting or capacity planning processes and implement corrective controls
  • Champion adoption of automation tools and scalable BI capabilities to future-proof Shared Services operations
The team

The Business Planning Group currently consists of four team members supporting the Sheffield Shared Service Centre, with scope expanding to include the US Shared Service Centre. The team’s core responsibilities include performance reporting, administration of shared service systems, and workforce planning.

On a day-to-day basis, the team works closely with operational leadership to deliver actionable performance insights, using data to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality, and to enable informed, data-driven conversations across the organisation in the UK and globally.

What we are looking for

Essential criteria:

  • Significant experience in MI reporting, business intelligence or operational analytics within a Shared Services, Contact Centre or similar operational environment
  • Demonstrated experience leading reporting standardisation, optimisation or transformation initiatives
  • Advanced working knowledge of Power BI, Excel and reporting/data visualisation best practices
  • Experience contributing to workforce planning or capacity modelling frameworks
  • Experience administering or configuring Clarizen, ServiceNow or similar workflow platforms
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders using data-driven insight
  • Strong understanding of KPI definition frameworks, data governance principles and operational performance management
  • Experience mentoring or supporting the development of junior analysts

Preferred skills:

  • Experience supporting or developing in operational backgrounds or similar such as Contact Centre/Shared Service Centre MI
  • Understanding of data governance and operational excellence principles
  • Exposure to international collaboration or multi-region service models
  • Experience of SQL, VBA, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI Semantic Model or Azure would be beneficial
