Lead Data Analyst

Salary: £47,000 - £50,000

Hybrid - 1-2 days on site per week


Our client, a not-for-profit mutual Housing Association based in Greater Manchester, is seeking a Lead Data Analyst to join their Data and Insight team. This role offers the opportunity to drive data-led decision making across the organisation and help build in-house analytics capability.

The Role


As Lead Data Analyst, you will deliver high-impact analysis, lead a small team, and develop advanced analytics capabilities including predictive modelling. You will work across the organisation, partnering with teams in Housing, Asset Management, Finance, and Customer Services to enable data-driven decisions that improve services for residents.

This is a hands-on role where you will lead analytical projects, mentor junior analysts, and support the broader data strategy. Your work will directly influence how the organisation forecasts demand, manages risk, and plans for the future.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead analytical projects across the organisation, from strategic forecasting to service reviews
  • Build and deploy predictive models to anticipate demand, reduce risk, and support planning
  • Partner with colleagues across different departments to enable smarter, data-driven decisions
  • Support the design and delivery of the data strategy and transformation programme
  • Mentor junior analysts and help build a culture of continuous improvement
  • Work with the Data Governance team to drive high-quality data standards


Essential Requirements

Technical Skills:

  • Strong experience in data analysis and visualisation using Power BI, Excel, and SQL
  • Hands-on knowledge of predictive modelling techniques (regression analysis, clustering, forecasting)
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data environments such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud
  • Confidence working with large, complex datasets, including data cleansing, transformation, and validation
  • Understanding of data governance principles around data quality, security, and compliance


Personal Qualities:

  • Collaborative approach with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical colleagues
  • Strong communication skills – you can translate complex data into actionable insights for any audience
  • Natural problem-solver with curiosity, creativity, and attention to detail
  • Proven experience in mentoring or coaching others
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects with a flexible approach

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with Python or R
