We are currently recruiting for a Junior Systems Specialist & Data Analyst, to be based from our Head Office at Longforgan/ Dundee:Note this is a single role, not 2 separate positions.



Job Summary:

 

We are seeking a motivated Junior Systems Specialist & Data Analyst to support with the maintenance and development of systems, to help provide user support, and to support the organisation's reporting and analytics function.

 

You will collaboratively work with teams across the company, assisting in system enhancements and delivering high-quality tools which drive business growth. This role will also be directly involved with the continued drive for service improvements and service efficiency.

 


Principal Objectives:

 

  • To provide the business and product expert for systems products and services with support in delivery of the support function.

 

  • To support with the maintenance, configuration and development of systems.

 

  • Through time , education and experience be able to deputise for the Internal Product Expert.

 

  • To provide documentation and a knowledge base with regards the functionality of systems, ensuring accuracy and that the information is kept up to date.

 

  • Provide an escalation point (level 2&3) for supported systems out with the existing L1 systems support team.

 

  • To escalate to the product expert when knowledge is exhausted with stakeholder requests.

 

  • Provision of updates on current projects/requests and any other issues to help manage expectations and ensure stakeholders are informed.

 

  • To provide opinion to strategic discussions relating specifically to future technologies.

 

  • To work with the business departments to understand and deliver their reporting and analytics requirements

 

  • To support the ongoing development and maintenance of reporting systems and associated dashboards.

 

  • To provide insightful data analytics that supports improved efficiency and performance within the organisation.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Assist with System Maintenance and Development: Support system updates, configuration changes, and enhancements under guidance.

 

  • Provide User Support: Offer learned expert support for systems, escalating complex issues to the product expert when required.

 

  • Support Business Analytics and Reporting: Help create dashboards, reports and analytics tools to support the wider business.

 

  • Collaborate with other teams: Work with Finance Analysts and Operational Managers to ensure a drive for system improvements and understanding.

 

  • Training and Learning: Participate in training sessions on systems and stay up to date with existing and new technologies.

 

  • Data analysis: Work with product expert to ensure trend analysis and reporting to improve service delivery. 

 

  • Participate in specific projects as requested.

 

 

Skills & Abilities Required for This Position (Essential): 

  • Degree Level in development or equivalent experience


  • Good problem solving & troubleshooting skills.


  • Strong communication and organisational skills.


  • Ability to work to deadlines with a flexible and customer focused approach.


  • Logical thinker with a developed attention to detail.


  • Experience of Oracle SQL and understanding of relational databases


  • Competency with Microsoft tools including Excel.



Skills & Abilities Required for This Position (Desirable):


  • Previous experience or education in a systems/application service desk environment. (ITIL)


  • Familiar with programming languages like JavaScript or Python.


  • Exposure to CRM tools or business IT environment.


  • Technical support experience

Additional


  • Once in position candidate to receive training in line with Health & Safety Law.


  • Training will be provided in systems currently used across the organisation.


  • A bonus scheme is in operation in the department based on achieving performance based objectives


  • Position is advertised as onsite, however we do depending upon the nature of the work and an individuals capability & experience enable remote working when required. This can be discussed further at interview stage.
