Office based – This position is office-based. Qualified applicants must live within commuting distance of our Glasgow office location and should expect to be in office a minimum of 4 days per week.


Sonos data helps us build a better business, a better product and ultimately helps us make happier customers. By understanding how our customers listen in their homes (and beyond), the Product Data team uses data to guide and influence the product direction and improve the customer experience.


What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate with other machine learning engineers on development and deployment of machine learning models across product and customer intelligence initiatives.
  • Work with Data Analysts to understand data patterns, user behaviors, and analytical insights that inform model development.
  • Partner with Data Engineers to design and maintain scalable machine learning pipelines and data workflows.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with Product, Marketing, and CX teams to contribute to data‑driven initiatives and foster cross‑team learning.
  • Support model performance evaluation and refinement, ensuring reliability, scalability, and continuous improvement.
  • Learn and apply machine learning engineering practices, contributing to documentation, versioning, and lifecycle management.
  • Explore and adapt new tools, technologies, and methods to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of machine learning solutions.
  • Work in a collaborative, cross‑functional environment that values innovation, curiosity, and continuous learning.

What You’ll Need
Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 0–1 years of experience (including internships) in Machine Learning, Data Science, or Software Engineering.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and an understanding of core machine learning principles and model development.
  • Familiarity with data manipulation and processing using modern analytical or engineering tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and frameworks quickly.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with a passion for machine learning, data, and scalable engineering systems.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) or data pipeline tools.
  • Experience with distributed or stream processing frameworks.
  • Experience using real‑world large‑scale IoT datasets or telemetry data.
