We are working with a London local authority to recruit for a Housing Needs Research and Data Analyst to join their inclusive economy and housing directorate. This is a unique opportunity to apply your analytical expertise to a critical social mission. Working closely with colleagues across homelessness prevention, temporary accommodation, and housing allocations, you’ll lead on performance reporting, data insight, research, and predictive analysis that informs key decisions and strategic priorities.
Key Responsibilities of the Interim Housing Needs Research and Data Analyst:
Lead on managing, interpreting and reporting complex housing data to monitor outcomes, highlight challenges, and inform service designDeliver robust Power BI dashboards and T-SQL solutions to support intelligent performance management across Housing NeedsPartner across departments and with external stakeholders to align strategy and insight, supporting the delivery of our Homelessness and Rough Sleeping StrategyShape service improvements through data-driven innovation, enabling smarter, more preventative housing interventionsCoordinate the delivery of statutory returns, Freedom of Information requests, and internal performance reports to senior officers, elected members, and government bodiesSupport system development, ensuring business continuity for critical data services
Skills and knowledge required of the Interim Housing Needs Research and Data Analyst:
Strong experience in advanced data analytics, including SQL (T-SQL) and Power BI development with previous experience within a public sector organisationProven ability to deliver insights from complex datasets, ideally in a local authority or public sector contextUnderstanding of homelessness legislation, housing allocations, and performance reporting requirements
