Thanks to continued growth, our US & Canada Healthcare team are looking for someone with previous Healthcare or North American experience to join them in an Underwriting capacity. Our team of 12 underwriters offer two packaged policy solutions for both the traditional healthcare and the digital healthcare industry. About the role

As an Underwriter on our Healthcare team you’ll work closely with the Healthcare Team Leader in all aspects of underwriting, including new business and renewal underwriting, responding to broker queries and driving business development.

You will consider both traditional and digital healthcare providers liability, from a holistic perspective by writing multiple classes of insurance, alongside effectively contributing to wider team projects. 

You will play a key role in developing and growing new business opportunities and building strong broker relationships to drive profitable Healthcare business. The role will include international travel as required, to support this. Respond to and manage enquiries from brokers in a timely and professional manner, producing new and renewal quotations within agreed SLAs and underwriting authority parameters; Develop and seek out new business opportunities through cultivating new and current broker relations; Support with the creation of bespoke endorsements; Maintain and produce regular underwriting reports around the portfolio as required;  Explain the features, advantages and benefits of Healthcare insurance products including eHealth; explaining coverage enhancements; and supporting product launches to raise awareness of new and existing products; Prepare and deliver internal and external presentations on CFC products, key trends and emerging exposures; Research with a mind to develop subject matter expertise in Healthcare classes and investigate relevant legislation/regulation/compliance issues within our target territories;  Contribute effectively to team performance standards including new business / renewal targets. 

About you

We’re looking for driven, self-starters with a strong work ethic who are keen to develop their skillset. You’ll have a solid background in underwriting healthcare or medical malpractice products with at least 2-4 years hands on underwriting experience. Given our key territory is North America, experience working within this market is highly desirable.You will be expected to work at a high pace and intensity that underpins the successful framework of the CFC business and develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support our ambitious growth plans. You will need to be sales and service focussed, confident and personable on the phone and in front of our customers and be able to demonstrate a hunger and aptitude to support growth within the team. You will be analytical with strong attention to detail but also able to reach conclusions quickly and make effective decisions. With the emerging nature of digital healthcare, a successful candidate will be proficient technically and keen to stay on top of current affairs within the industry.
