About the Opportunity:

We are seeking a collaborative, inspiring and student-centred leader to join us as ourHead of School for Psychologyto provide academic leadership across our psychology departments and programmes. This role will driveexcellence in teaching, assessment, and student experiencewhile fostering a supportive learning environment for both students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the academic strategy for the School of Psychology, ensuringoutstanding teaching, feedback, and assessment practices.
  • Oversee curriculum developmentand the integration ofengaging course contentanddigital learning resources.

About You:

We are looking for an exceptional academic leader who possesses:

  • An MSc or equivalent qualification inPsychologywithGraduate Basis for Chartership (GBC), recognised by theBritish Psychological Society (BPS).
  • A clear vision ofacademic excellenceand a passion for student success.
  • Strong understanding ofBritish Psychological Society (BPS)and otherProfessional, Statutory, and Regulatory Bodies (PSRB)accreditation requirements.
  • A proven track record of leading academic portfolios across different levels and modes of study, ensuring highstudent experience, outcomes (TEF metrics), and satisfaction.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, includingteam building, performance management, and change leadership.
  • Experience inbuilding strong relationshipsand engaging with diverse stakeholders acrosspublic, private, corporate, and voluntary sectors.
  • A deep understanding of howbig data and digital technologiesare shaping the psychology and education sectors.
  • Effectiveleadership skillswith the ability to inspire and develop academic teams.
  • Excellentdigital capabilities and skillsto support innovation in teaching and learning.
  • Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA)– this is essential for the role.
