Role Overview:
Senior Leader to own the development and delivery of Sky’s People Analytics vision, strategy, and execution roadmap.
Job Purpose & Key Responsibilities
Senior Leader to lead the development and delivery of Sky’s People Analytics & Reporting vision, strategy, and execution roadmap Ensure that the People Analytics & reporting vision and strategy delivers for Skys business and people strategy Manage senior exec-level stakeholders outcomes across Sky balancing delivering “the Sky Way” against a need to deliver the teams strategic objectives Lead a dedicated People Analytics & Reporting team to deliver People reporting and data needs and the build and growth of the People Analytics Engine Build a high-performance culture where the team is dynamic and able to deliver to senior stakeholders needs quickly whilst being able to continue to move forward longer-term team objectives Challenge the status quo and continually bring the “outside-in” to drive innovation within the team Provide strategic support to the People Directorate and business in the areas of people metrics, reporting, and advanced predictive analytics capabilities Build partnerships, internal and external, working closely with senior stakeholders in the People Directorate, Sky Data, Technology and vendors to deliver tools and system solutions required Translate people data and insights into commercial “so-whats” and “business speak”; being able to tell stories that will resonate with senior stakeholders and forums in Sky Drive the evolution of the People analytics capability into predictive and prescriptive analytical offerings Ownership of the maintenance and quality assurance of our People data, reports and key metrics Develops and maintains the strategy for People analytical tools and technology to develop and analyse enterprise-wide people and other cross-functional data as needed, leveraging AI and ML to optimise the user experience. Actively look to mentor the wider Strategic workforce team, broadening their capabilities and experience Management of budgetary spend where appropriate
Candidate Specification
Essential:
Deep Experience in a senior leadership role leading a People analytics & reporting team or consulting role with increasing responsibility at a global company and experience in producing data strategies and implementation Management: Demonstrated record of managing large global teams and/or in a matrixed environment Senior stakeholder relationships: Strong experience in managing senior stakeholders (exec/PLT level) and able to prioritise effectively to manage the teams workload. Able to manage and maintain relationships “upwards”, “downwards” and “sideways” to influence outcomes required. Political management: Demonstrated record of managing complex political situations, being brave to challenge upwards but also displaying the pragmatism to deliver to achieve outcomes Story Telling: Strong ability to communicate at an exec-business level using the data & insights developed by the team; ensuring that presentations are pitched at exec “business speak” vs. data; being able to communicate the impact of actions in a way that is meaningful to the business leader and enables their business objectives Challenge & Innovate: Challenge the status quo and continually bring the “outside-in” to drive innovation within the team Commerciality: Strong experience in being able to translate data and people insights into commercial propositions and performance Business acumen: Knowledgeable in business strategy and the drivers of organisational performance (both people drivers of performance and financial literacy, business KPIs, business cases) and the external benchmarks which inform this Strong analytical reasoning: identify workforce insights and develop hypotheses; recommend the data and analytical products to meet these requirements Detail orientated whilst being able to translate the detail into a story that is easily digestible to senior stakeholder forums. Impact and influence: ability to build the case for change, drawing on data and analytical techniques where appropriate, and influencing senior stakeholders Strong multi-tasking abilities, flexibility, and patience in a fluid environment “Can-do” mentality to drive innovative ideas and execution techniques
Essential – Technical:
Deep technical hands-on expertise in data analytics, data visualisation, organisational network analyses, business intelligence, and reporting Advanced Excel and PowerPoint with experience of visualisation tools such as Tableau Knowledge or experience of working with Google Cloud Platforms products like BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Machine Leaning or similar cloud solutions (desirable) Programming skills in object-oriented programming language such as Java, Python, and Scala Familiarity in using Big Data ecosystems and driving strategy
