Job Description:

Carwow Group is driven by a passion for getting people into cars. But not just any car, the right car. That’s why we are building the go-to destination for car-changing. Designed to reach drivers everywhere with our trail-blazing portfolio of personality-rich automotive brands; Carwow, Auto Express, evo, Driving Electric, and Car Buyer.

What started as a simple reviews site is now one of the largest online car-changing destinations in Europe - over 10m customers have used Carwow to help them buy and sell cars since its inception. Last year we grew over 50% with nearly £3bn worth of cars bought on site, while £ of cars were listed for sale through our Sell My Car service.

In 2024 we went big and acquired Autovia, doubling our audience overnight. Together we now have one of the biggest YouTube channels in the world with over billion annual views, sell million print copies of our magazines and have an annual web content reach over 350 million.

WHY JOIN US?

We are winners of the prestigious Culture 100 award that recognises the most loved and happiest tech companies to work for! We have just raised $52m in funding led by global venture capital firm Bessemer Venture Partners (an early backer of LinkedIn and Shopify) to accelerate our growth plans!

As pioneers, we’re always driving for new territory and positive change, so our work as a group is never done. Where others see difficulty, it’s our responsibility to see possibility – building new experiences, launching new titles and listening to drivers.

Being a part of Carwow Group means championing drivers and the automotive industry, acting as a disrupter and never being afraid to fail (but learning fast when we do!).

Our team of 500 employees across the UK, Germany, Spain, and Portugal are revolutionising car-changing and we are fast expanding our mission across every single brand and country we operate in, so jump in!

THE ROLE

At Carwow, our Marketing Team has had incredible success leveraging Marketing Analytics, insights, and data; in fact, we have been shortlisted for multiple awards in 2024 for our work in this space. This role is an opportunity to work amongst a very talented and high-performing team, that is an integral part of the Marketing organisation - enabling Carwow’s sustainable and data-driven growth.

As the Head of Marketing Analytics, you will lead a team of 7 analysts, and a long-standing agency relationship, while also helping the team scale efforts for an ever-growing business that is taking on a number of new initiatives post-fundraise. A core aim during your tenure is to realise the value of a recent Martech investment in a Customer Data Platform, as well as embedding a Marketing Capital Allocation strategy through multiple measurement methods and an alignment with our budgeting process.

Managing multiple, and complex stakeholder relationships with very different interests and needs will be critical for this role, as well as a focus on continued development of team members and an emphasis on team culture given the fast expansion of the team and the wider business.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Lead a team of 7 analysts, plus a long-standing agency team of 2-3 extra part-time analysts. 5 of these roles are Direct Reports.
  • Matrix manage our Marketing Data Engineers and a Data Scientist who officially sit outside of the team, but are very much part of the squad.
  • Ensure continued success of BAU support for all our Marketing stakeholders across all channels by enabling the team to overcome blockers, obtain buy-in and manage conflicting priorities.
  • Define and enable the delivery of Marketing Analytics quarterly OKRs and goals, with the team.
  • Refine and deliver on 2 core initiatives that we are currently building up towards:
  • Customer Data Platform implementation and utilisation, through strong data design, solid governance and speedy execution.
  • Marketing Capital Allocation process and execution that enables optimal budgeting across our Marketing Mix, utilising MMM (in-house) and ongoing incrementality tests.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Please note: We know that no candidate will be the perfect match for all we've listed in this posting, so we’d encourage you to apply if you feel you're close to the brief but not an exact match.

  • Marketing Analytics specialism:
  • A background in Marketing Analytics, with a passion and deep knowledge of various Marketing channels (including digital and ATL).
  • Particular familiarity with Google channels and platforms is a bonus.
  • Experience in embedding Marketing Capital Allocation into business budgeting; specific experience with MMMs and incrementality is essential.
  • Experience of utilising and/or implementing Martech - especially a Customer Data Platform is desirable.
  • Technically strong:
  • Strong SQL (other programming languages such as Python are a bonus but not essential).
  • Strong analytical thinking and commercial mindset.
  • Experienced leader:
  • Experience leading large teams, and therefore comfortable not being involved in the detail/ day-to-day for the majority of the team, but also able to support more junior members of the team more closely.
  • Previously worked closely with/ managed Data Engineers.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and managing multiple and complex stakeholders.
  • Willing to challenge the status quo, with relevant value-driving ideas.
  • Passionate about team development and cultivating a strong culture of collaboration and a happy, healthy work environment.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU

  • Competitive salary to fund that dream holiday to Bali.
  • Matched pension contributions for a peaceful retirement.
  • Share options - when we thrive, so do you!
  • Vitality Private Healthcare, for peace of mind, plus eyecare vouchers.
  • Life Assurance for (even more) peace of mind.
  • Monthly coaching sessions with Spill - our mental wellbeing partner.
  • Enhanced holiday package, plus Bank Holidays.
  • 28 days annual leave.
  • 1 day for your wedding.
  • 1 day off when you move house - because moving is hard enough without work!
  • For your third year anniversary, get 30 days of annual leave per year.
  • For your tenth year anniversary, get 35 days of annual leave per year.
  • Option to buy 3 extra days of holiday per year.
  • Work from abroad for a month.
  • Inclusive parental, partner and shared parental leave, fertility treatment and pregnancy loss policies.
  • Bubble childcare support and discounted nanny fees for little ones.
  • The latest tech (Macbook or Surface) to power your gif-sending talents.
  • Up to £500/€550 home office allowance for that massage chair you’ve been talking about.
  • Generous learning and development budget to help you master your craft.
  • Regular social events: tech lunches, coffee with the exec sessions, lunch & learn, book clubs, social events/anything else you pester us for.
  • Refer a friend, get paid. Repeat for infinite money.

Diversity and inclusion is an integral part of our culture. We know that diverse teams are strong teams, so we welcome those with alternative identities, backgrounds, and experiences to apply for this position. We make recruiting decisions based on experience, skills and potential, so all our applicants are treated fairly and equally.

Machine‑Learning Jobs for Non‑Technical Professionals: Where Do You Fit In?

The Model Needs More Than Math When ChatGPT went viral and London start‑ups raised seed rounds around “foundation models,” many professionals asked, “Do I need to learn PyTorch to work in machine learning?” The answer is no. According to the Turing Institute’s UK ML Industry Survey 2024, 39 % of advertised ML roles focus on strategy, compliance, product or operations rather than writing code. As models move from proof‑of‑concept to production, demand surges for specialists who translate algorithms into business value, manage risk and drive adoption. This guide reveals the fastest‑growing non‑coding ML roles, the transferable skills you may already have, real transition stories and a 90‑day action plan—no gradient descent necessary.
