We have an exciting opportunity for an Data Services Manager, essentially heading up all things data join our team. This role is pivotal in overseeing and managing our data services function, leading a team of skilled data professionals, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure effective data management, analysis, and reporting across the organization.

Location: Felixstowe – 5 days in Felixstowe is essential. – We do appreciate this is a deal breaker.

Duration: Permanent

Salary: Up to £73,000 plus benefits, depending on experience

Key Responsibilities:

Data Management and Integration

• Lead the transition of data products into IT service support, ensuring seamless integration and proper onboarding.
  
  
• Oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of data management systems, including data warehouses, data lakes, ETL processes, and SQL.
  
  
• Define and manage data integration strategies, ensuring smooth data flow across internal databases, third-party applications, and external sources.
  
  
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and security by managing database access and data access rights.
  
  Data Analysis and Reporting
  
  
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to uncover data-driven insights and develop robust reporting frameworks.
  
  
• Manage data analytics projects, including data modeling, statistical analysis, and predictive modeling, to support strategic decision-making.
  
  
• Oversee the creation and delivery of regular reports and dashboards, communicating key performance indicators (KPIs) and trends.
  
  Team Leadership and Development
  
  
• Build and lead a high-performing data services team, including hiring, training, mentoring, and managing performance.
  
  
• Provide technical guidance to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
  
  
• Promote cross-functional collaboration by working closely with IT, analytics, and business units.
  
  Stakeholder Collaboration
  
  
• Engage with stakeholders to understand their data needs and ensure data services align with business objectives.
  
  
• Act as a liaison between business units and technical teams, ensuring clear communication and understanding of data requirements.
  
  
• Build and maintain relationships with external partners and industry experts to stay updated on emerging trends and best practices.
  
  Required Skills and Experience:
  
  
• Data Management: Proven experience (5+ years) in data management, data governance, or related roles.
  
  
• Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of data management tools and practices, including data warehousing, integration, and ETL processes. Proficiency in SQL, Python, Tableau, and Power BI.
  
  
• Leadership: Excellent leadership, coaching and team management skills, with a track record of developing and motivating a diverse team.
  
  
• Communication: Strong communication skills, capable of interacting effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  
  
• Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset with a meticulous approach to solving complex problems.
