DENSO is at the forefront of advanced technology and is in a unique position to shape the future of mobility. We see this not just as an opportunity to create technologies that enable motion, but as a responsibility to influence the direction of that movement towards safety, sustainability and a greater need for inspiration. With more than 200 subsidiaries and affiliates across 5 continents, DENSO is powered by a global workforce of about 170,000 individuals, whose expertise in research and development, engineering, manufacturing, sales and operations, enable us to continuously develop core technologies designed to respond to the industry and society's evolving needs by pushing the boundaries of what's possible.

DENSO Automotive UK Ltd is based in the heart of the UK automotive industry and provides development engineering and account management for a number of car makers.

Put your engineering Degree to work at DENSO. As a new graduate, you will collaborate with experienced engineers on live Off-Highway and Heavy-Duty common rail diesel system development programs, contributing to the successful delivery of products to our global customers.

DENSO will offer the training, support and resources to provide you with a solid foundation for achievement and growth.

We are looking for candidates with:

Bachelors or Masters Degree from an accredited university in Mechanical / Automotive Engineering.

Key relevant modules: Engineering design, Solid mechanics and dynamics, Fluid dynamics, Thermodynamics, Materials, Instrumentation and Control.

Organisation in Coventry, UK

Coventry Engineering Centre has sole responsibility for design, validation and productionisation of FIE components for customers across Europe (CAT, Cummins, Volvo Truck, Volvo PENTA, MAN, Kohler, GM).

The organisation splits into 4 key groups:

  1. Application customer support functions, with small teams spread across Europe.
  2. System team which help support performance of the system (i.e. rail pressure and injector calibration).
  3. Component Engineers who ensure the components design and customers use of the components is suitable to achieve the customer’s requirements (performance, life, etc).
  4. Test team who are manage engineering responsible activities in our Test Facilities.

The teams work in close collaboration, in order to complete validation / investigate and solve customer issues.

In this role you will experience product design, simulation and testing. It will be necessary to iterate designs as the customer develops their engine, input into change point analysis to determine necessary validation, investigate returned components, make judgement on customer validation and take responsibility to create material to show why we have confidence to release parts to production.

DENSO has invested heavily in diesel and has 3 test rigs (to simulate engine and measure detailed component shot performance), as well as a component inspection laboratory (to measure wear and deterioration of returned components).

DENSO sees a strong future still in diesel for Off Highway and heavy-Duty applications.

Main Purpose of the Job

Hardware support, including design of customer application and supporting returned parts investigation for EU/Global Diesel customers.

Main Tasks of the Job

Responsibility for the design, testing and analysis of parts of the Diesel FiE system. Responsibility includes discussion with the customer (e.g. understanding of customer validation results, presentation of results), component testing of injector pump and rail, analysis/judgement, discussion with component design team and reporting to customer.

DENSO is looking for a highly motivated and talented graduate engineer, with good theoretical knowledge and a strong desire to contribute to real world projects.

Specific Responsibilities

Personnel:Will be primarily working within the Component Design team, with the opportunity for placements in our other teams.

Machine Learning Jobs in the Public Sector: Opportunities Across GDS, NHS, MOD, and More

Machine learning (ML) has rapidly moved from academic research labs to the heart of industrial and governmental operations. Its ability to uncover patterns, predict outcomes, and automate complex tasks has revolutionised industries ranging from finance to retail. Now, the public sector—encompassing government departments, healthcare systems, and defence agencies—has become an increasingly fertile ground for machine learning jobs. Why? Because government bodies oversee vast datasets, manage critical services for millions of citizens, and must operate efficiently under tight resource constraints. From using ML algorithms to improve patient outcomes in the NHS, to enhancing cybersecurity within the Ministry of Defence (MOD), there’s a growing demand for skilled ML professionals in UK public sector roles. If you’re passionate about harnessing data-driven insights to solve large-scale problems and contribute to societal well-being, machine learning jobs in the public sector offer an unparalleled blend of challenge and impact. In this article, we’ll explore the key reasons behind the public sector’s investment in ML, highlight the leading organisations, outline common job roles, and provide practical guidance on securing a machine learning position that helps shape the future of government services.

Contract vs Permanent Machine Learning Jobs: Which Pays Better in 2025?

Machine learning (ML) has swiftly become one of the most transformative forces in the UK technology landscape. From conversational AI and autonomous vehicles to fraud detection and personalised recommendations, ML algorithms are reshaping how organisations operate and how consumers experience products and services. In response, job opportunities in machine learning—including roles in data science, MLOps, natural language processing (NLP), computer vision, and more—have risen dramatically. Yet, as the demand for ML expertise booms, professionals face a pivotal choice about how they want to work. Some choose day‑rate contracting, leveraging short-term projects for potentially higher immediate pay. Others embrace fixed-term contract (FTC) roles for mid-range stability, or permanent positions for comprehensive benefits and a well-defined career path. In this article, we will explore these different employment models, highlighting the pros and cons of each, offering sample take‑home pay scenarios, and providing insights into which path might pay better in 2025. Whether you’re a new graduate with a machine learning degree or an experienced practitioner pivoting into an ML-heavy role, understanding these options is key to making informed career decisions.

Machine‑Learning Jobs for Non‑Technical Professionals: Where Do You Fit In?

The Model Needs More Than Math When ChatGPT went viral and London start‑ups raised seed rounds around “foundation models,” many professionals asked, “Do I need to learn PyTorch to work in machine learning?” The answer is no. According to the Turing Institute’s UK ML Industry Survey 2024, 39 % of advertised ML roles focus on strategy, compliance, product or operations rather than writing code. As models move from proof‑of‑concept to production, demand surges for specialists who translate algorithms into business value, manage risk and drive adoption. This guide reveals the fastest‑growing non‑coding ML roles, the transferable skills you may already have, real transition stories and a 90‑day action plan—no gradient descent necessary.
