big spark, a UK based consultancy delivering next level data platforms and solutions with a focus on exciting technologies including Apache Spark, Apache Kafka and working on projects within Machine Learning, Data Engineering, Streaming and Data Science is looking for a Graduate Consultant to join our team on a permanent basis in a UK remote, work from home capacity with some attendance to client sites where necessary. We provide the backbone for modern analytics to our clients through expertise in DevOps, distributed computing, machine learning and adoption of proven open source projects. We specialise in backend development, infrastructure automation and performance engineering for data workloads at scale.
Role Purpose
As a Graduate Consultant at bigspark, you will embark on an exciting journey to develop your consultancy skills while contributing to impactful client projects. You will gain hands-on experience, tackling complex challenges and delivering data-driven insights to clients. This role is ideal for a motivated individual eager to learn, grow, and make a meaningful impact.
You will be working within ourFraud and Financial Crime Prevention Practice, a team that believes AI can revolutionise fraud detection and financial crime prevention. With a deep belief that technology can be better leveraged in this space, we are dedicated to exploring and implementing advanced solutions that safeguard individuals and business alike.
Key Responsibilities include
- Collaborate with senior consultants to analyze client challenges and design innovative solutions.
- Conduct research and data analysis to support project objectives.
- Develop presentations and reports to communicate findings and recommendations to clients.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of project deliverables.
- Engage with clients to understand their needs and ensure alignment with project outcomes.
- Stay informed about industry trends, tools, and best practices.
- Contribute to the internal development of methodologies, tools, and processes.
Skills, experience and qualifications:
- A graduate with a degree in Business, Data Science, IT or other relevant field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Team-oriented with the ability to manage tasks independently.
