WHAT YOU'LL DO
Be part of a team that is supporting BCG’s digital transformation through analytics and data! We are building out a centralized Business Intelligence & Analytics function that will simplify and automate information delivery—providing advanced insights and analysis to support decision making. To date, the team has launched and operationalized dozens of global-scale products and dashboards, enhancing how our leaders engage in information to manage the business.  The next wave of digital reporting is underway, and we need your help to unlock further value for BCG’s leadership and functions with best-in-class business intelligence and analytics. 

The Business Intelligence & Analytics BI Developer, Manager, will play a pivotal role for the Enablement Squad, driving innovation in digital solutions and products to provide actionable insights and analytics for BCG's Leadership. You will be responsible for leading the end-to-end technical design and supporting development of Tableau-based reporting solutions, leveraging your expertise in data architecture and engineering to ensure the scalability, security, and reliability of our products. Your role will involve providing strategic guidance on UX feasibility, data model design, and performance engineering; while evolving our best practices and standards that maximize the adoption and impact of our products around the world.

Business and Analytic Skills

  • Developing insightful, visually compelling, and engaging dashboards that push the limits of Tableau enabling an excellent user experience

  • Tenured at data exploration; able to quickly transform and synthesize data from multiple sources and identify optimal data structures to support end-state reporting needs

  • Consistent attention to detail on optimizing reporting products to be performant, scalable, and secures

  • Operating within an agile environment where you actively partner on product roadmaps with end-users and functional and technical team members

  • Being customer-focused and dedicated to understanding and learning about customer needs and requirements

Data Management

  • Skilled at designing and implementing numerous complex data flows optimizing for performance and consumption by BI tools

  • Collaborating with product owners and business stakeholders to develop product, engineering, and delivery roadmaps for enterprise-wide rollouts

  • Helping build secure, resilient, and efficient data models (SQL, dbt, and Snowflake experience preferred)

  • Using cloud-based analytical skills and knowledge of data visualization tools


Communication, Interpersonal and Teaming Skills

  • Working across teams to guide and support junior members through complex development phases – project planning, solution design, delivery, testing, product launch

  • Builds strong and lasting relationships across Enterprise Services; can partner effectively with team members in multiple time zones

  • Experience supporting an analytics transformation including profiling legacy reporting and providing next generation solutions that simplify the end-user experience while providing greater insights

  • Constructively challenges business on assumptions and goals; asks questions that effectively lead to deeper understanding; pushes thinking of business partners and redirects poor business assumptions

  • Develops practical and acceptable compromises when negotiating; adapts style to changing situations and audiences with tact, poise, and patience

  • Demonstrates persistence to drive change


YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)

  • 6-8 years Tableau or Power BI Development experience required (Tableau Data Analyst certification preferred; Desktop Specialist with appropriate experience will also be considered)

  • Hands-on experience designing, developing, implementing, and supporting premium leadership dashboard reporting solutions

  • Experience leading and managing end-to-end dashboard or analytics product lifecycles

  • Proficiency in SQL a plus, preferred experience with Python, R, HTML/CSS/JavaScript

  • Expertise in data modeling to power high performance applications for global analytics

  • Experience embedding content and operating an enterprise grade BI Portal

  • Well-versed in the standard development life cycle; DevOps practices with Confluence, JIRA, and GitHub

  • An understanding of designing and implementing security both within Tableau Server and database-level security concepts

  • Experience with Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran, Figma, DataDog, or Microsoft Fabric

  • Basic knowledge of financials statements including P&L, Balance Sheet, etc. is preferred

  • Experience working with Agile development methodologies and ceremonies

As a member of the team, you will interact extensively with a diverse range of stakeholders from across the business, both geographically and functionally. The role sits within the Enterprise Services organization; coordinating and working with our Analysis, Planning, and Reporting teams will play a large part in this role.
