The majority of Flight Physics work is focused on aircraft programmes like the A350XWB and A320neo, as well as future aircraft research. We are also heavily involved in Research & Technology (R&T), capability development, and data science, making our work both varied and interesting.The Flight Physics function in the UK is made up of four departments that covers a wide range of activities: Aerodynamics, Loads and Aeroelastics, Mass Properties, and Flight Physics Capability & Strategy.This internship is based within the Flight Physics Capabilities and Strategy team and they are responsible for developing the diverse range of tools and capabilities used by Flight Physics, and we are exploring how to apply new technologies such as Design Space Exploration, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Data Analytics to our business.****What you will be doing:**Interns make a significant contribution to Flight Physics. You will be given responsibility and ownership of your tasks during your internship, doing real and challenging work within your team and experiencing a wide range of technical topics. This internship is for a Junior Data Science Engineer and will consist of a main project focussed around data analytics and visualization of Flight Physics data but will also include additional shorter tasks alongside to give exposure to other subjects. On your main project you will be supporting the development of frameworks for visualization (based on a three-tier web app architecture) that will enable Engineers to produce a wide range of customisable visualizations reliant on both static and dynamic data. You will also contribute to innovation projects by applying modern data analytics and machine learning algorithms to analyze Flight Physics data sets with a focus on generating visualizations that will act as a lever to kick off strategic transformations.Interns make a significant contribution to Flight Physics. You will be given responsibility and ownership of your tasks during your internship, doing real and challenging work within your team.Requirements:Our placements are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement.
