You’ll play an essential role in the race as we Shift to Zero, getting involved in developing and implementing strategies that will allow you to develop your career.


JOB PURPOSE

Reporting to the Head of Business Sustainability, this role will contribute to the development and implementation of the Silverstone ESG Strategy. The primary focus will be to support the carbon data collection from internal and external stakeholders and work closely with various agencies in order to develop a comprehensive carbon reporting and environmental certification process.


This role would suit someone with an extensive understanding of sustainability and proven experience in implementing change strategies in companies, specifically assisting with decarbonisation roadmap.

You need to be highly organised, data passionate with great reporting skills and a great problem solver attitude.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support and coordinate submissions to third-party recognition systems (FIA Environmental Accreditation, and other sustainability related systems/accreditation) including carbon data collection.
  • Identify common thematic challenges across venue operations teams and coordinate tools, tracking mechanisms, and resources t o support improvement.
  • Familiar with the ISO20121 environmental management system for events, with the capacity to participate to the elaboration of Sustainability Plans, identifying and assessing opportunities & risks and providing solutions to relevant business divisions.
  • Be responsible for the tracking & management of Silverstone’s ESG targets and produce internal and external sustainability / ESG reports.
  • You will research and document sustainability best practices within the sport and leisure industry, manage and build processes, and improvement plans to assess sustainability baseline of Silverstone’s different departments and streamline support, create efficiencies, and empower global teams in the successful implementation of our sustainability programs across the organisation.
  • You will coordinate the data collection and tracking of key performance indicators.
  • Keep abreast of changes to ESG legislation and practices to ensure business procedures and polices remain current.
  • Ensuring projects are well coordinated with different key stakeholders, on time, on budget and to high quality standards.
  • Proactively seek to identify and propose areas of improvement that could accelerate the success of Silverstone ESG strategy.
  • Effectively manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Investigate on key sustainability initiatives/practices within the industry, channelling the latest ESG trends.
  • Ensure accurate and consistent measurement of ESG performance data; produce internal and external reporting on progress towards ESG objectives and targets.
  • Evaluate relevant sustainability technology proposals and have the ability to take concepts and ideas and convert them into practical steps and plans.
  • Generate and deliver sustainability communication briefings to the Head of department.
  • Ability to participate to internal and external ESG Working Groups.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

You have:


  • Experience in supporting and implementing sustainability programmes with a track record of practical delivery against publicly stated goals on environmental and social issues in a major organisation.
  • Proven ability to define, implement and deliver ESG commitments on time and within budget.
  • Stronger written and oral communication skills, with an ability to produce written reports and policies.
  • An ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment, with an agile and pragmatic working style.
  • You should possess a broad knowledge of environmental planning and sustainability practices, as well as strong communication, analytical and organisational skills.


What we are looking for:


  • A passion for driving change

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in delivering operational strategic changes and/or developing strategic sustainability solutions
  • A track record of shaping strategies ESG plans and investment cases
  • Strong advisory/execution skills
  • Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and respond to changing priority
  • Knowledge of ISO14001, ISO20121 and relevant environmental certification
  • Knowledge of GHG calculation, UK and EU Innovation fund, CDP, CSRD and SERC/ESOS reporting
  • Understanding of Life Cycle Assessment, carbon reduction and sustainability resource planning
  • A collaborative team player, with excellent project management skills
  • Ability to interact at different levels of management, consultants and event organisers
  • Fluency in English (corporate language)


Desirable:


  • Sustainability/ESG Data analyst background preferable and/or MSc in a business or sustainability linked subjects
  • Second language beneficial
  • Strong interest in event and sport industry
