Roadchef is seeking a dynamic and innovative IT and Digital professional to join our team.  This role is pivotal in driving both traditional IT operations and spearheading digital transformation strategy, including advancements in AI, big data and driving the integration of our EV charging infrastructure into our broader IT and data ecosystem. 

As Director of function this role has overall accountability for IT within the business, both at our Motorway Service areas and Support Office level. The role holder is accountable for the strategic planning and management of all information technology systems and management functions. 

 

The remit of the role includes delivery of all infrastructure, applications and key IT projects and systems.

Increasingly there will be a focus on Electric Vehicles, Digitalisation and the pragmatic use of AI within Roadchef.

It is also anticipated that we will update our Finance and ERP systems over the next short while and so the ability to manage large, sensitive projects as well as managing the more day to day tasks is vital.

The role will help formulate and implement the strategy for advanced data analytics, the platform infrastructure required for such services and defining the value offer for Roadchef.

Experience required for this position:

  • Proven experience in a senior IT leadership role
  • Demonstrable expertise in digital transformation including AI and big data solutions. 
  • Experience in IT Project management from inception to delivery.
  • Likely to have exposure to ERP (or ERP like) systems in a Retail/Multi-site environment 
  • Exceptional hands-on experience with IT systems & infrastructure management.
  • Large awareness of the current technology and a passion to seek more information on the future opportunities technology can provide.
  • Must be creative, proactive, driven and a team player.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical colleagues at all levels
  • A strategic thinker yet practically minded
  • Willing and able to push against corporate inertia
  • Able to prioritise, with input from exexutive management, the focus of the IT department.
