Join our dynamic Digital Marketing Data Engineering team at Fanatics, where you’ll play a critical role in shaping the big data ecosystem that powers our eCommerce and Digital Marketing platforms. As a full‑time Staff Data Engineer, you’ll design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines and architectures, ensuring seamless data flow and effective collection across cross‑functional teams. You will also leverage your backend engineering skills to support API integrations and real‑time data.


Qualifications

  • BTech/MTech/BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 9+ years of software engineering experience, with a strong track record in building data pipelines and big data solutions.
  • At least 5 years of hands‑on experience in Data Engineering roles.
  • Proficiency in Big Data technologies such as: Apache Spark, Apache Iceberg, Amazon Redshift, Athena, EMR, Apache Airflow, Apache Kafka, AWS services (S3, Lambda).
  • Expertise in at least one programming language: Scala, Java, or Python.
  • Strong background in designing and building data models, integrating data from multiple sources, and developing robust ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Expert‑level SQL programming skills.
  • Proven data analysis and data modeling expertise, with the ability to create data‑driven insights and effective visualizations.
  • Familiarity with data quality, lineage, and governance frameworks.
  • Energetic, detail‑oriented, and collaborative, with a passion for delivering high‑quality solutions.

Bonus Points

  • Experience in the e‑commerce or retail domain.
  • Knowledge of StarRocks or similar OLAP engines.
  • Experience with Web Services, API integrations, third‑party data exchanges, and streaming platforms.
  • A passion for building scalable, high‑quality analytics platforms and data products.
