The Digital Audit Team's Innovation quadrant designs, builds and maintains apps to automate existing tasks and audit tests, as well as creating completely new audit approaches.
The increasing suite of apps improve audit efficiency and audit quality, making the Grant Thornton audit more valuable and the life of the Grant Thornton auditor better.

A look into the role
As an Assistant Manager within the Innovation quadrant of our Digital Audit Team, you will:
Assist with planning and delivering self-serve solutions, working with manager and senior managers in the team Develop proficiency in Python so that you can write quality code that is consistent with the firm's best practice and PEP 8 (Python's style guide) Write discrete sections of code to be included in AAA tools, as well as complete self-serve code for simple tools Use your own initiative to research solutions to coding challenges Learn and help to implement a range of technologies including machine learning, APIs, Microsoft Azure, and Microsoft Power Apps Follow the firm's processes, for example the app development checklist and the New Initiatives Process Consider the needs of the audit practice and opportunities for digital improvement as the driving force behind all your activities Work alongside the other Digital Audit Team quadrants of Implementation, Methodology, Operations and Support
Knowing you’re right for us
Joining us as an Assistant Manager, theminimum criteriayou’ll need is to be driven and determined to find solutions to audit challenges regarding data and analytics. It would be great if you had some of the following skills, but don’t worry if you don’t tick every box, we’ll help you develop along the way.
Experience in Python, the primary programming language of the department, would be ideal, but we have established a comprehensive training program to support any candidate who has not coded in Python before An ability to think laterally, identifying opportunities for automation or transformation A systematic, analytical approach to work, being able to take a task or problem and turn it into a digital solution An interest in maintaining and developing your technical knowledge
