The Role

Data and analytics play a crucial role in the modern audit. You’ll work on technical assignments that enable you to develop skills in Advanced Analytics, Machine Learning, Data Engineering, and sophisticated visualisation tools to provide clients with the PwC digital audit experience. This means that you’ll develop the technical, business, and soft skills that our clients are demanding today.

As the leading analytics function in the PwC UK audit practice, you’ll work closely with audit clients across a broad range of industries (e.g., banking, insurance, asset and wealth management, oil and gas, manufacturing, and telecoms).

Training and Development

Through our tailored training programme, you’ll develop the foundations to become a highly skilled advanced analytics professional. You’ll also receive full support from your own Career Coach and experienced colleagues who will help guide and shape your career, ensuring you are always delivering your best.

We aim to ensure graduates gain relevant external business and technical accreditations, providing a good combination of business knowledge and technical skill that sets our advanced analytics professionals apart.

Requirements

To be considered, you must demonstrate experience working in a data role, covering multiple of the following disciplines:

  1. Carry out audits of financial statements using data analytics and technology.
  2. Apply knowledge of existing audit methodologies.
  3. Liaise with audit teams and audit clients to develop innovative approaches.
  4. Data transformation and modelling (e.g., pandas and scikit-learn in Python).
  5. Data storage and querying (e.g., SQL, Alteryx, Python).
  6. Data visualisation experience (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau).
  7. Understanding of common data quality issues and their effects on machine learning models.
  8. Data cleansing and manipulation for machine learning (e.g., feature engineering).
  9. Robotics experience (e.g., UI Path).
  10. Experience demonstrating finance/accounting understanding.
  11. Experience with financial/general ledger data.
  12. Knowledge of the current data science software platforms.

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:

  1. The ability to come up with creative solutions to complex problems.
  2. Good audit knowledge and understanding of the audit process.
  3. Experience working and leading a team and on listed/multinational clients.
  4. Exceptional analytical and technical aptitude.
  5. Exceptional attention to detail.
  6. The ability to manage time, prioritise tasks, and work under tight deadlines.
  7. Ability to coach and support team members.
  8. Concise and clear communication when presenting and explaining results and findings.
  9. Client relationship-building and management skills.
  10. Experience in working in complex environments.
  11. Experience in coaching junior colleagues and an interest in developing others.
  12. 2:1 university degree in any subject with an interest in data analytics, machine learning, data science, data mining, and coding.

Locations
As a National Business, we have Digital Audit Data teams in a number of locations. This role is open to candidates looking for a permanent position in Manchester or London.
