Data Scientist – Start-Up – Stock Consideration

We are looking for a mid-level Data Scientist to join a vibrant early tech start-up in Manchester.

Are you fascinated by behavioural biometrics? Do you want to build AI that understands and predicts actions, decisions, and patterns? Join us at the frontier of Behavioural AI innovation!

Our client leverages behavioural biometric interactions and powerful AI to create unique user profiles for seamless security.

Due to recent investments and ambitious growth plans, they are looking for a Data Scientist to join the team.

The Role:

  • Analyse behavioural datasets to uncover insights and patterns.
  • Design and train predictive models based on user interactions, decision flows, and sequences.
  • Apply machine learning and deep learning techniques to simulate and anticipate behaviour.
  • Collaborate with the wider AI / ML engineers and team.
  • Develop and implement scalable data pipelines and experimentation frameworks.
  • Translate business and product questions into data-driven solutions.
  • Stay on top of emerging trends in behavioural modelling, reinforcement learning, and cognitive AI.

What we are looking for:

  • 2+ years of experience in data science or machine learning roles.
  • Strong knowledge of behaviour biometrics or sensor-based or time series data.
  • Solid Python skills (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow or PyTorch).
  • Experience with time-series data or sensor-based or behavioural biometric data, and sequential modelling (e.g., LSTMs, Transformers).
  • Comfortable working with SQL and data visualisation tools.
  • Startup mindset: entrepreneurial, independent, adaptable, and collaborative.
