Job Description:

We’re looking for a Junior or Senior Data Scientist GenAI to join our Data Science team of 20+ in our analytics center in Karlsruhe or our headquarters in London. This role is a unique opportunity to explore and shape the GenAI model landscape in a large data business with 20,000+ B2B users and rich proprietary content & data on global markets and forecasts which no other model has access to. Our vision is that through natural language, human decision makers can search, understand, visualize, and summarize current global market trends as well as interrogate global data, connect with our numerical predictive models on future trends and forecasts, and derive personalized decision recommendations through Agentic AI. You will be working in a small cross-functional in-house team with technologists, UX researchers, product and data scientists that focuses on experimenting on and continuously optimizing the GenAI layer in our array of Data Science models behind already customer-facing GenAI & analytics products. You will be expected to continually learn and apply new skills.

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, deploy, continuously evaluate and optimize model architectures to achieve our GenAI and Agentic AI vision in close collaboration with cross-functional team members and external development partners. Recommended & explore model design choices and options to optimize for result quality, domain knowledge context, speed, understandability, cost, stability etc.
  • Work with our wider Data Science team to connect our language models with other predictive & prescriptive data and models into a coherent and customizable customer experience.
  • Creatively identify, share, and experiment on new model opportunities for internal/external business use cases. Analyze model usage and feed back into the development process.
  • Contribute to our 20+ Data Scientist community & culture through team spirit, engagement, and sharing learnings & best practices.

Key Skills / Experience Required:

  • Strong background & excitement in GenAI technologies such as Deep Learning and NLP
  • Understanding of the core concepts behind LLMs
  • Engagement with open-source models, including experience with platforms like Hugging Face and Kaggle.
  • Solid experience with the standard Python machine learning & NLP techniques and popular libraries (e.g., Pytorch, Tensorflow, nltk, gensim, spacy)
  • Ideally, experience in knowledge/context embedding techniques and Agentic workflows
  • Knowledge of basic software development principles (modularization, versioning e.g., with GIT, tests, understandable code)
  • Degree in a scientific field relevant to Data Science
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills (in English)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Personal interest to learn about commodity markets and trading
  • Desire to lead experiment projects
