You’ll have the freedom to innovate, influence strategy and lead the development of revolutionary data science capabilities to make a tangible impact on people’s lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of the data science strategy, enabling effective use of large-scale neural, physiological, and clinical data.
  • Oversee the design and optimisation of data infrastructure, pipelines, and databases to support research, engineering, and clinical activities.
  • Apply advanced analytical, statistical, and machine learning methods (e.g. statistical modelling and signal processing) to generate actionable insights that guide therapy design and innovation.
  • Develop and validate computational models to deepen understanding of neural dynamics and therapeutic mechanisms.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate data-driven approaches into clinical studies and product development.
  • Ensure data quality, governance, and reproducibility across all data activities.
  • Support the creation of embedded algorithms and analytical tools for real-time and offline data interpretation.
  • Identify and protect novel intellectual property arising from data science and signal processing and neuromodulation research.
  • Mentor and develop scientists and engineers in data analysis, modelling, and research best practices.
  • Publish scientific findings, contribute to grant applications, and represent the company at leading research forums.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Ph.D. or equivalent experience in Biomedical Engineering, Data Science, Computational Neuroscience, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience building and managing data infrastructure and analytical workflows for large and complex biomedical datasets.
  • Strong expertise in statistical modelling, signal processing, and applied computational methods.
  • Experience working with clinical and preclinical data, ideally within neuromodulation, neuro-engineering, or physiological systems.
  • Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, and modern data platforms (e.g., SQL, cloud-based data lakes, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Understanding of medical device development, data compliance, and regulatory standards.
  • Evidence of contribution to IP, scientific publications, or translational research outputs.

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with neural interface technologies, implantable systems, and data acquisition tools.
  • Experience in high-performance computing, data engineering, or cloud-based analytics (e.g., AWS, Azure, Databricks).
  • Experience leading cross-disciplinary research projects.

This position is ideal for an experienced Research & Data Scientist looking for an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the medical device industry. A strategic thinker capable of defining & executing a comprehensive data science roadmap, you will have exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills. With strong leadership & mentoring skills, you should have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a commitment to research and product innovation.

About Us

Our client is developing a closed-loop neuromodulation therapy able to treat mixed urinary incontinence for the first time and transform the clinical outcome of a very large untreated patient population. The system targets the pudendal nerve with a device that can both stimulate and sense physiological responses.

What We Offer

This is a chance to be part of a ground-breaking team creating life-changing therapies for millions of people globally. You join us at an exciting phase of our development, as we expand the team and accelerate towards our first Pivotal Trial.

If this sounds like you, you'll fit right in.
