Data Scientist (4-Month Contract) – Remote UK Based Only


A leading global technology company is seeking an experienced Data Scientist for a 4-month contract to support critical product analytics and experimentation work in their Account Access and Appeals organization.

This role provides the opportunity to deliver direct business impact on user experience and platform safety. The team ensures users can regain access to accounts that may have been incorrectly restricted by automated enforcement systems.

The Data Scientist will support two key areas:

  • Actor Appeals: Users incorrectly flagged as bad actors
  • Content Appeals: Incorrectly actioned content


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct product analytics to uncover trends, root causes, and opportunities for optimization
  • Design, guide, and analyze experiments, including power analysis, precision/recall trade-offs, and downstream impact evaluation
  • Translate complex datasets into actionable insights from a user perspective
  • Partner closely with engineers, measurement teams, product managers, and policy teams to define metrics, prioritize work, and guide decision-making
  • Evaluate account-blocking decisions, helping differentiate benign vs. harmful actors and balancing trade-offs effectively
  • Support initiatives to improve automated enforcement systems while minimizing errors for legitimate users


Required Qualifications

  • Strong SQL skills for product and data-driven analysis
  • Pexperimentation experience in product environments
  • Expertise in product analytics, metrics, and data storytelling
  • 5–7+ years of relevant experience (flexible if aligned with responsibilities)
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills


Nice to Have

  • Security, fraud prevention, or detection system knowledge
  • Python or other data science programming experience
  • Experience at product-focused or fast-paced companies (e.g., Deliveroo, Skyscanner, Cleo, Intercom, King, Revolut, Monzo)
