Are you a Data Scientist ready to make an impact across a global business? Do you thrive on solving complex problems, creating innovative data products, and working at the intersection of people, data, and technology? If so, we want to meet you.

At Collinson, we’re on a mission to harness the power of data to deliver smarter, faster, and more customer-focused solutions across our diverse portfolio — from loyalty and customer engagement to travel experiences and financial services. We’re growing our Data Science team and are looking for a hands-on, forward-thinking Data Scientist to join us on this journey.

What you will do:

As a key member of our Data & AI/ML Platform team, you’ll play a central role in designing, building, and deploying data solutions across Collinson’s global operations and external client engagements. This is a high-impact, full-lifecycle role, from ideation and prototyping to production deployment and monitoring.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Building and deploying machine learning models (supervised & unsupervised)
  • Designing and maintaining scalable data science pipelines
  • Rapid prototyping of ideas and transforming PoCs into enterprise-ready tools
  • Exploring structured and unstructured data (customer, transactional, pricing, text, etc.)
  • Managing cloud infrastructure (primarily AWS) and working with modern ML tools
  • Delivering clear, insightful reports and presentations to internal and external stakeholders
  • Mentoring junior data scientists and supporting team growth and excellence

You’ll work closely with stakeholders across marketing, product, finance, and more — so strong communication skills and a business-savvy mindset are key.

What we are looking for:

We're looking for someone with a strong technical foundation, an innovative mindset, and a collaborative spirit.

Technical skills (essential):

  • Expertise in Python (NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn) and SQL
  • Experience with EDA, data wrangling, and visualization tools (e.g., Matplotlib, Plotly, BI tools)
  • Ability to build, evaluate, and deploy ML models (REST APIs, batch jobs, FastAPI, etc.)
  • Experience operating in cloud environments (AWS preferred) using Docker and Git workflows
  • Strong foundation in statistics, machine learning, and experimental design
  • Proven ability to communicate technical solutions clearly to non-technical stakeholders

Technical skills (a big plus):

  • Knowledge of deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow), transformers, or LLMs
  • Familiarity with MLOps tools (MLflow, SageMaker, Airflow, etc.)
  • Experience with streaming data (Kafka, Kinesis) and distributed computing (Spark, Dask)
  • Skills in data visualization apps (Streamlit, Dash) and dashboarding (Tableau, Looker)
  • Domain experience in forecasting, optimisation, or geospatial analytics

We would like to talk to you if you are:

  • A curious problem-solver who loves to dig deep and deliver real impact
  • A self-starter who thrives in fast-paced, collaborative environments
  • A clear communicator who can translate business needs into data-driven solutions
  • A team player who is excited about mentoring, sharing knowledge, and continuous learning
  • Passionate about staying up to date with the latest trends in AI/ML, data science, and cloud technology

Collinson is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes differences in all their forms including: colour, race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, neurodivergence, family status, age, individuals with disabilities and people from all backgrounds, cultures and experiences as we strongly believe this contributes to our on-going success.

We are focused on continually evolving our purpose driven, high performing culture, providing an environment where our people have the opportunity to achieve their full potential and do interesting and meaningful work. Our company values are: Take Action, Do the right thing, One team and Be insight led. These help guide everything we do internally in terms of how we think, act and interact, right through to how we deliver value to our customers and clients.

Neurodiversity in Machine Learning Careers: Turning Different Thinking into a Superpower

Machine learning is about more than just models & metrics. It’s about spotting patterns others miss, asking better questions, challenging assumptions & building systems that work reliably in the real world. That makes it a natural home for many neurodivergent people. If you live with ADHD, autism or dyslexia, you may have been told your brain is “too distracted”, “too literal” or “too disorganised” for a technical career. In reality, many of the traits that can make school or traditional offices hard are exactly the traits that make for excellent ML engineers, applied scientists & MLOps specialists. This guide is written for neurodivergent ML job seekers in the UK. We’ll explore: What neurodiversity means in a machine learning context How ADHD, autism & dyslexia strengths map to ML roles Practical workplace adjustments you can ask for under UK law How to talk about neurodivergence in applications & interviews By the end, you’ll have a clearer sense of where you might thrive in ML – & how to turn “different thinking” into a genuine career advantage.

Machine Learning Hiring Trends 2026: What to Watch Out For (For Job Seekers & Recruiters)

As we move into 2026, the machine learning jobs market in the UK is going through another big shift. Foundation models and generative AI are everywhere, companies are under pressure to show real ROI from AI, and cloud costs are being scrutinised like never before. Some organisations are slowing hiring or merging teams. Others are doubling down on machine learning, MLOps and AI platform engineering to stay competitive. The end result? Fewer fluffy “AI” roles, more focused machine learning roles with clear ownership and expectations. Whether you are a machine learning job seeker planning your next move, or a recruiter trying to build ML teams, understanding the key machine learning hiring trends for 2026 will help you stay ahead.

Machine Learning Recruitment Trends 2025 (UK): What Job Seekers Need To Know About Today’s Hiring Process

Summary: UK machine learning hiring has shifted from title‑led CV screens to capability‑driven assessments that emphasise shipped ML/LLM features, robust evaluation, observability, safety/governance, cost control and measurable business impact. This guide explains what’s changed, what to expect in interviews & how to prepare—especially for ML engineers, applied scientists, LLM application engineers, ML platform/MLOps engineers and AI product managers. Who this is for: ML engineers, applied ML/LLM engineers, LLM/retrieval engineers, ML platform/MLOps/SRE, data scientists transitioning to production ML, AI product managers & tech‑lead candidates targeting roles in the UK.
