Job Description

Are you passionate about using data to solve real-world problems and drive innovation? We're looking for a curious and collaborative Data Scientist to join our Group Data & Analytics team. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to impactful projects, develop your skills in machine learning and data engineering, and work alongside a supportive team that values diverse perspectives and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and delivering data science solutions with support from experienced colleagues
  • Engineering and preparing data from varied sources for analysis and modelling
  • Conducting exploratory data analysis to uncover insights and inform decisions
  • Building and validating machine learning models to improve business outcomes
  • Visualising analytical outputs and model results using best practice techniques
  • Documenting work clearly and participating in peer reviews for quality assurance
  • Supporting data initiatives that enhance customer experience and operational efficiency
  • Adhering to governance standards and maintaining up-to-date documentation

Qualifications

Who we\'re looking for:



  • Holding a degree in a quantitative discipline or equivalent practical experience
  • Demonstrating experience working with large datasets and strong attention to detail
  • Applying machine learning techniques in commercial or research settings
  • Using coding languages such as Python, R and SQL for data manipulation and modelling
  • Understanding stakeholder needs and managing expectations effectively
  • Collaborating across teams and building positive working relationships
  • Familiarity with dashboarding tools like Power BI or Tableau (beneficial but not essential)
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS (beneficial but not essential)
