Senior Data Scientist
Location: Manchester, UK

About the Role:
Our leading retail client in the UK is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Scientist to join their dynamic analytics team in Manchester. In this role, you will lead strategic data initiatives aimed at optimizing customer engagement, pricing, and inventory management across retail operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and deploy machine learning models to support business objectives (e.g., customer segmentation, demand forecasting, price optimization).
Conduct deep-dive analyses on customer behavior, sales trends, and supply chain data.
Translate complex data findings into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, merchandising, and supply chain.
Mentor and support junior data scientists and analysts.
Promote best practices in data science, model validation, and experimentation (e.g., A/B testing).
Key Requirements:
Proven experience (5+ years) in a data science role, preferably in retail or e-commerce sectors.
Strong proficiency in Python or R, SQL, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Expertise in machine learning, statistical modeling, and predictive analytics.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable:
Experience working with large-scale retail datasets (e.g., POS, CRM, supply chain).
Familiarity with tools like dbt, Airflow, or MLflow.
Master’s or PhD in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or related fields.
