A well-respected insurance firm is looking to hire a Data Science Manager responsible for defining strategic data requirements for data consumption use cases. The role involves interacting with underwriters, data engineers, and technology departments to capture, prioritize, and document business and technical requirements, leading to deployment of automated analytics solutions. Effective communication and collaboration with Data Analytics and Actuarial teams are essential, along with contributing to management and board reports. Strong team management skills are also required.


Key Requirements


  • Strong management track record
  • Proven stakeholder management, including engagement with technical experts and senior management
  • Expertise in data science techniques
  • Advanced programming skills (Python advantageous)
  • Strong statistical, data manipulation, and analysis skills
  • Strong academic background
  • Experience working with Data Engineers, Architects, and Technology experts
  • 7+ years' Data Science / Actuarial experience, preferably in a Lloyd's environment
  • Proficiency in required IT packages
  • Good organization and planning skills
  • Excellent written and face-to-face communication skills
  • Experience supporting the development of data consumption use cases
  • Experience with Azure data technology stack (Data Factory, SQL, Synapse Analytics, PowerBI advantageous)
