Causaly

Causaly is the only platform that combines advanced AI and a high-precision knowledge graph to reduce risk and increase R&D productivity at scale.

Founded in 2018, Causaly accelerates how humans acquire knowledge and develop insights in biomedical science. Our production-grade generative AI platform for research insights and knowledge automation enables thousands of scientists to discover evidence from millions of academic publications, clinical trials, regulatory documents, patents and other data sources… in minutes.

We work with some of the world's largest biopharma companies and institutions on use cases spanning Drug Discovery, Safety and Competitive Intelligence.

Requirements

What we are looking for

We are looking for engineers with background and expertise in all things data, who love to explore and wrangle with data, enable and empower data science as much as knowledge generation. You will work on bridging the gap between domain semantics and engineering. This spans from modelling data and knowledge, over analysing and exploring all sorts of data, to designing complex algorithms and developing production-grade software for processing, cleaning, integrating data & knowledge resources. You will be part of the Data & Semantic Technologies team, responsible for designing and building the highly scalable and flexible data fabric essential for realising Causaly’s vision.

What you can expect to work on

  • Work on exciting business problems requiring the creation, integration, maintenance, and management of data & knowledge resources
  • Link domain semantics with engineering, working closely with our domain experts on topics like knowledge representation and integration
  • Work with other engineers on production data-pipelines, with a focus on data modelling, algorithms, stats and analytics for quality assessment & refinement
  • Contribute to drive our semantics agenda, particularly along the lines of ontology management, semantics for GenAI, and our knowledge graph
  • Explore, develop, debug in the context of rapid PoCs
  • Adopt data extractions with the help of LLMs in our pipelines, in collaboration with NLP & ML engineers
  • Work directly with a multitude of technical, product and business stakeholders
  • Proven experience in data and/or knowledge engineering roles with hands-on contributions to modelling, managing, analysing, and integrating data
  • Strong engineering background enabling rapid progression from ideation over proof-of-concept to production code
  • Proficiency in Python and Git, as well as SQL
  • Ability to debug and test code output, happy to participate in running and improving existing processes
  • Knowledge of or interest in the biomedical domain
  • Strong technical communication skills
  • A product and user-centric mindset
  • Proven problem solving and project execution skills, sense of ownership, organisational skills, high attention to detail and quality

Preferred Qualifications

Any experience of the following will be considered a plus:

  • Industry experience
  • Strong coding skills, experience with modern software development practices
  • Biomedical or similar background
  • Familiarity with graph and semantic technologies (Neo4j, RDF, OWL, SPARQL)
  • Knowledge of database query design and optimization
  • Experience with cloud infrastructures (GCP preferred)

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation package
  • Private medical insurance
  • Individual training/development budget through Learnerbly
  • Individual wellbeing budget through Juno
  • 25 days holiday plus public holidays and 1 day birthday leave per year
  • Hybrid working (home + office)
  • Potential to have real impact and accelerated career growth as an early member of a multinational team that's building a transformative knowledge product
