About the Apprenticeship:

The Product Development Data Sciences team in Welwyn Garden City is seeking a high calibre apprentice to join our team to contribute to the development of our medicines, specifically the analysis, reporting and submission of clinical trial patient data.

In the biopharmaceutical industry, each data point is part of a patient's story and their contribution to developing better medicines and understanding disease. It is our responsibility to maximise the use of this data for answering new questions and enabling larger-scale analyses for generating new insights. 

Successful candidates will use their data science and technical skills to contribute to the success of data science and insights generation at Roche working across diverse areas from the management and governance of data, to acquiring data and engineering solutions for visualising, integrating and analysing data, as well as ensuring data privacy,and also in areas such as learning and process management and healthcare compliance. 

As well working towards a fully funded Master’s degree (MSc) in Data Science over 3 years, apprentices joining Roche will work as part of a team in the Product Development Data Sciences department to deliver data and insights about our medicines and to provide solutions that aid the collection, database and analysis of clinical data for medicines in Roche’s diverse pipeline, contributing to the delivery of these to patients.

What you could be working on:

Delivering reliable analytics to enable Roche’s commitment to patients.

You will provide analytical and programming expertise and/or leadership support for the reporting and analysis of clinical trials and related submissions to Health Authorities

Using R or SAS, python and/or other programming languages.

Writing reusable functions and packages.

Manipulating and analyzing various data types related to clinical trials, including digital health, genomic and biomarkers

Transforming, organizing and analyzing healthcare data

Essential Qualifications:

BSc which includes a numerate component

Sufficient competency in Maths and a relevant programming language (R, SAS, python etc)

General Skills:

Influential and confident communicator

Demonstrates experience or is adaptable to utilizing and/or models modern ways of working consistent with an agile and growth mindset, and agile behaviors and methodologies. 

Fluency in written and spoken English

Ability to work across multiple cultures and countries

Willingness to travel as required
