Data Science and Advanced Analytics Associate – Salary £40,000-£50,000 (London), £30,000-£40,000 (National)

A bit about the job:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic and forward-thinking data science team, which is helping to shape the future of insurance through innovative analytics. As the industry evolves with rapid technological change, Aviva is investing in machine learning and data science as a key capability. Our team is recognised as a centre of excellence within our Global Data Science Department—delivering insights that drive smarter decisions across the Aviva Group.

This role has a strong research and development focus. You’ll explore creative ways to use our rich data assets and the latest machine learning techniques to enhance predictive modelling in Insurance Pricing. You’ll also work closely with a wide range of internal and external partners, helping to align priorities and maximise the value of our insights.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

Strong numerical and analytical thinking, with a creative approach to problem solving.

Self-motivated and organised, with a passion for continuous learning.

Great communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to explain complex ideas to different audiences.

A degree, MSc, PhD, or equivalent experience in a numerate or scientific subject (or a different path that’s given you similar skills).

Experience working with data—this could include statistical modelling or programming in Python, SQL, R, C++, or similar.

Starting salary between £40,000-£50,000 (London), £30,000-£40,000 (National)

Bonus opportunity – 8% of annual salary Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.
