Job Description

The Global Business Optimisation team has a simple mission: we turn massive amounts of data into actionable insights that drive business value. Our analytic consultants and data analysts work with Visa’s clients, partners, and staff to improve portfolio performance, program profitability, and cardholder experiences. By coupling in-depth analysis of cardholder behaviour with Visa’s world-class products, digital offerings, and marketing capabilities, we ensure our clients’ programs operate at their peak potential and that cardholders have seamless commerce experiences in both the physical and digital world.

As part of the Client Services organisation, this role will take ownership of this vision and deliver with excellence for our organisation and our clients. The successful candidate will use strong big data and analytical skills, contextual business sense, and a creative flair to solve real-world business challenges for Visa issuing banks, acquirers, merchants, and processors. In addition, your analytic expertise will directly impact the strategic direction of the organisation and how we deliver value from our data assets.

The successful candidate will be a key member in Global Business Optimisation, within Client Services, supporting all aspects of improving and optimising payment success, including but not exclusive to authentication and authorisation. Responsible for building and deploying a single source of truth on insights, facts, and reporting related to the Visa Europe Regions payment processing.

Responsibilities

  • Drive analytic insights on client performance and deliver findings to external and internal stakeholders, by proactively advising on how to improve performance.
  • Formulate and source necessary datasets from internal tools and platforms, rendering insights in compelling presentations and visualisations.
  • Generating and leading presentations of complex data and content to clients in an accurate, understandable and engaging manner taking into consideration that stakeholders have varying degrees of analytical and technical expertise by translating analysis and insights into stakeholder & client language
  • Create and present analytic deliverables to external Visa clients, colleagues in the analytics team, and other internal stakeholders with varying degrees of analytical and technical expertise
  • Provide analytical support to a combination of external Visa clients and colleagues in the GBO team, deliver SME training and contribute to projects across Visa with the aim at influencing decisions and mandates around Authorisation/Authentication
  • Getting to an understanding of root problems, define analytical objectives and formalize data requirements for various types of analyses.
  • Combining and analysing disparate data sources and derive insights in a Big Data environment
  • Work with a pan-European team located in multiple locations and contribute towards global projects
  • Proactively facilitate the overall analytic delivery strategy for the organization
  • Proactively creating, leading and running campaigns and advising Visa clients on how to achieve optimal performance
  • Making sure the data assets within the team are always updated and reflective of the changes in the payment’s ecosystem or the new Visa mandates/products
  • Contributing to building and managing highly strategic reports, with the aim at increasing the knowledge and understanding of the Authorisation/Authentication process
  • Assisting in the presentation of complex data and content to clients in an accurate, understandable, and engaging manner
  • Following a project through the whole lifecycle, from initial stakeholder engagement to report creation, to insight delivery and follow up
  • Comparing client performance against industry best practices with a shrewd eye towards identifying performance and/or profitability improvement opportunity
  • This role is expected to quickly ramp up knowledge of specific payment success initiatives with the target of leading on them within 6 months.​

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.


Qualifications

  • A genuine passion for the payments ecosystem.
  • Experience in a corporate environment.
  • Visa experience or knowledge of the payments industry is an advantage.
  • A good working knowledge of analytics methodologies, confident reading and understanding data analysis.
  • Knowledge of SQL, Tableau, automation and other big data skills is necessary
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft applications such as PowerPoint, Excel, and Word required.
  • Confidence working in a high pace and dynamic environment, following several work streams at the same time.
  • Experience working in an insight delivery environment with a proven record of creating business value from data.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Proactive, curious, problem solver with experience of being a self-starter and has a willingness to learn.
  • Flexible, adaptable and able to think quickly.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Fluency in English is required while knowledge of an additional European language is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of additional European language(s) is an advantage.
