Your new company
Landmarc provides top-tier insights and reports to our business and clients. Our Data Insight and Reporting Team is at the forefront of strategy, architecture, engineering, support, and maintenance of our data solutions, aligning with client requirements, business objectives, and our Information and Technology strategy.

Your new role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Data Insight and Reporting Lead to join our Information and Technology leadership team (ITLT). This senior role is pivotal in recognising the importance of data and delivering meaningful operational and commercial business insights to enhance the effectiveness and productivity of the Landmarc team. As the leader of a small but growing team, you will bring your expertise in establishing and operating an effective data/information and insight team, along with the necessary processes, tools, and solutions. You will lead and manage the Data, Insight and Reporting team, including Insight and Reporting specialists, Data Analysts & Engineers, and the GIS team.

Developing and mentoring your team, you will ensure adherence to industry-recognised good practices. You will formulate and implement the Landmarc data, insight, and reporting strategy and plan, design, develop, maintain, and support the solutions underpinning Landmarc's insight and reporting capabilities, and ensure compliance with TESC contract requirements regarding data and reporting. Collaborating with senior business and technology stakeholders, you will design, build, and operate a robust data insight and reporting architecture and solution. You will guide and mentor your team using your extensive experience in data insight and reporting, define and agree on relevant KPIs with the business to drive improvements in data quality and report on KPI achievements. Leading the Data Engineers and Data Analysts, you will define processes, requirements, and solutions for data and insight provision, ensuring the Landmarc Data Architecture is fit for purpose, covering quality, completeness, security, accessibility, and business workflow support. You will align the data insight and reporting strategy with the wider IT strategy and roadmap, and support the GIS Lead in integrating GIS data requirements and solutions into the broader data strategy.
In addition to your primary responsibilities, you will support the achievement of ISO 55001 Accreditation for Asset Management, identify commercial opportunities for data and insight exploitation, stay updated with best practices in Data Science from industry and academia, collaborate with IT Department colleagues to ensure data representation in the cross-domain Landmarc business and technology architecture, and manage relationships with data insight and reporting technology vendors.

What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you will need proven experience leading a data insight/business intelligence & analysis/reporting function, expertise in delivering and operating data warehouse and business insight platforms, and proficiency with Microsoft Power BI. Experience with data warehouse solutions like Microsoft Azure Synapse Analytics, Snowflake, and other business insight solutions is highly desirable. You should have knowledge of Data Governance and Data Quality best practices and relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR), experience managing and motivating a small team, and effective knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office.
Desirable skills include experience working with MoD contracts, understanding of modern business processes where asset management and work management are key, and knowledge and experience with the ArcGIS toolset.

Expected behaviours include constructive and effective interaction with business stakeholders and IT users, balancing speed and agility with quality and reliability, applying business acumen and commercial understanding alongside technology expertise, developing and supporting your team to improve their skills and capabilities, providing constructive feedback to staff, demonstrating a proactive, flexible, and positive approach to work, working independently and collaboratively, effectively resolving conflicts, continuously seeking improvements and never settling for the status quo, communicating effectively both written and orally, prioritising health and safety, being results-oriented with the ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines, and establishing and developing effective working relationships. Prerequisites include eligibility to undertake BPSS & SC clearance (current SC clearance is desirable) and a UK Driving licence (desirable for travel between Landmarc locations).

What you'll get in return
Highlights include access to industry leading training/certifications, a good pension, free parking, and working alongside some highly experienced and talented colleagues to share knowledge (which is actively encouraged). There's also a great opportunity to accumulate holiday through the annual leave policy and Christmas shut-down period.
