Responsibilities

We are looking for a Data Engineering Specialist to fulfil the following responsibilities:

Designs, builds, tests and maintains reporting data stores and data pipelines and services, consistently looking to make improvements to efficiency in order to reduce running times and costs. Regular reviewer of others’ work, raising issues as appropriate. May assist with a quality control function. Supports and guides consultants during the investigation of issues, knowing when to step in and when to encourage more independence. Supporting more junior members of the team with the development of their technical knowledge. Able to look at existing solutions and diagnose issues, with the goal of making improvements to efficiency in order to reduce running times and costs. Works to ensure that available data meets business requirements and user needs. Develops and maintains robust, performant data integration and transformation routines and services. Maximises the automation, scalability and reliability of data services, focusing on opportunities for reuse, adaptation and efficient engineering. Effectively documents their work in an understandable way to ensure smoother handovers. Consults the client on best practices and provides solutions for complex data challenges. Works collaboratively with the front-end developers, UX researchers, source system administrators, etc. to ensure a smooth end to end process.
