£85,000 Salary + Up to 25% Bonus (£100k+ package)

London office twice per month



OVERVIEW


Major sports betting/ gaming company hiring for a Data Engineering Manager to line manage a team of Data Engineers on a breadth of key projects which are core to the businesses wider data function. The role has a heavy management focus, so they are looking for candidates with proven experience line managing a team of Data Engineers previously! It’s a tech & data-driven organisation with a huge consumer base and interesting projects to tackle right away upon joining the team! Your responsibilities as a Data Engineering Manager will include, but not be limited to:


  • Lead, manage & mentor a team of Data Engineers across a breadth of team projects, giving technical guidance and delegating workloads.
  • Ensure the team delivers projects on time, mentoring the team and supporting them with their personal and career development.
  • Engage with senior level stakeholders across the business, communicating technical concepts and projects to non-technical audiences and be a thought-leader in the Data Engineering function.
  • Manage the development, maintenance and optimisation of scalable data pipelines for the wider data team.



YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE


A successful Data Engineering Manager will have the following:


  • Minimum of Bachelors’ degree in STEM subject.
  • 5+ years commercial experience as a Data Engineer, with at least 2 years in a management or leadership position.
  • Proficiency in Python, Cloud Technologies (AWS, GCP or Azure), data warehousing solutions such as BigQuery or Snowflake and data pipeline development frameworks.
  • Proven experience line managing data engineers, being involved in their personal development and setting goals/ objectives.
  • Preferably experience with IaC (Terraform).
