A brand new vacancy for a talented Data Engineer with an incredible biotech start-up has become available, based at state of the art offices and labs in West London (W12). The Data Engineer will spearhead the design and implementation of data pipelines for a range of scientific data. Key Responsibilities Design and implement scalable data pipelines to ingest and transform experimental data from diverse sources. Specify and maintain data models, schemas, and storage strategies that align with scientific and regulatory requirements. Lead the evaluation, customization, and deployment of a LIMS system to support sample tracking, QC, and assay management. Develop data governance frameworks and access controls to ensure data integrity and security. Collaborate with R&D teams to understand their workflows and translate them into digital tools and automation. Integrate data systems across the lab, cloud infrastructure, and analytics platforms. Produce high-quality documentation and support internal training on data platforms. Essential Requirements Significant experience in data management, informatics, or data engineering roles in life sciences Proven experience implementing or managing a LIMS system Strong skills in Python and SQL, and experience working with structured and unstructured scientific data. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and workflow tools Solid understanding of laboratory workflows and how they translate into digital systems. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment. An excellent salary and beenfits package is on offer, in addition to hybrid working.
