My client, a leading multi-strategy hedge fund, is seeking to hire a Data Engineer with strong SQL Server and cloud expertise to join their expanding London team.

This is a newly created role, driven by the continued build-out of the firm’s technology and data infrastructure, and the centralisation of data management functions across the business.

The successful hire will play a key role in setting up and managing Azure SQL instances and data warehouses, automating data import and refresh processes, and ensuring data quality and availability. Alongside day-to-day reporting and data requests, they will also help establish data governance frameworks and act as the central point of contact for data-related projects across the fund.

The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years of SQL Server experience, at least 1 year of cloud expertise, and strong proficiency in SQL programming, database optimisation, and performance tuning. Experience with financial data (e.g. trade, reference, and position data), as well as tools such as Tableau, will be highly advantageous.

This is a rare opportunity to join a world-class investment manager at a pivotal moment of growth. Compensation is highly competitive, with excellent progression prospects and exposure to high-impact projects within a collaborative and entrepreneurial environment. Flexible working is also offered.
