real complexities, real needs, and a united purpose. We are looking for detail-oriented Data Engineer to join our team for an initial 6-month period as Maternity cover. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, hardware and software engineers, to support our data-driven decision-making processes.The Data Engineer must possess a strong technical aptitude and be hands-on when delivering solutions, working comfortably across the full delivery lifecycle. You should have practical experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing data architectures, with a working knowledge of AI and Machine Learning techniques. The ideal candidate will have a consultative mindset and the ability to engage with users and stakeholders at all levels of the organization to collect and analyse requirements, ensuring optimal solution design, data pipeline delivery, and infrastructure scalability.We offer a fixed-term maternity cover (6 months), with a possibility to extend.Your responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Collaborate with Predictive Maintenance & Intelligence team as well as other data-oriented teams at Elekta to deploy models, analytics workloads onto the Azure Analytics platform as well as providing data engineering expertise.Engage in business analysis by working directly with stakeholders at all levels to understand data requirements for developing BI solutions and applications. Participate in concept exploration projects related to advanced development and services, offering data engineering support for prototyping and feasibility studies. Stay updated on the latest developments in data engineering, tracking new ideas, tools and methods in the field of data science, machine learning and deep learning.Excellent organisational skills, with a high degree of accuracy and detail.Relevant experience demonstrating business awareness or involvement. meet every requirement—your unique skills and experiences might be exactly what Proven experience as a Data Engineer. Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc.), databases (SQL etc.), programming (XML, Javascript, or ETL frameworks).Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc.).Strong experience with machine learning workflows and working knowledge of Azure Data Services (e.g., Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, etc.). Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.Experience with complex enterprise architecture.
