Data Engineer Location: Bolton
Salary: Up to £47,000
Are you ready to take the lead in driving data integrity, ERP performance, and process improvement across a dynamic engineering environment? We’re looking for a Data Engineer with strong ERP experience (ideally SAP) to join a high-impact Central Data Team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives on improving systems, influencing strategy, and making a real difference in how engineering and manufacturing functions operate at scale. What You’ll Be Doing as the Data Engineer: Define and lead audit strategies aligned to master data policies Improve and standardise processes across engineering and planning functions Use SAP to analyse data, uncover insights, and influence decision-making Support routing, BOMs, material masters, and scheduling functions Lead process development for new assembly structures and capacity planning Work with external support teams to implement SAP enhancements Create functional specs and maintain user guides Generate and distribute KPI packs and support operational excellence initiatives What You’ll Bring: Strong experience with ERP systems (SAP experience highly beneficial) HNC qualification or equivalent APICS certification (desirable but not essential) Sharp analytical skills and attention to detail A collaborative and proactive approach A proven record of driving process improvements and supporting change What’s On Offer: Company bonus up to £2,500 (dependent on company performance) Generous pension contributions up to 14% Paid overtime opportunities Flexi leave (up to 15 additional days per year) Enhanced parental leave, including support for fertility treatment and neonatal care Flexible working arrangements On-site facilities including subsidised meals and free parking This is a great opportunity to join a high-performing team as a Data Engineer, where your expertise in ERP systems and passion for continuous improvement will be truly valued.
