This job will involve designing, building, and maintaining robust data pipelines and infrastructure to support our new ERP/CRM solution and enterprise data platform. You'll play a key role in integrating diverse data sources, transforming raw data into structured, accessible formats, and enabling data-driven insights across the business.


As the Data Engineer, you will work full-time 37 hours a week, Monday to Thursday 08:45 to 17:45, Friday 08:45 to 13:45 with hybrid working options available. This job is a permanent position.


This is a great opportunity for a skilled and motivated Data Engineer to contribute to a major digital transformation project, leveraging modern tools like Microsoft Fabric, Python, Azure DevOps, and Terraform to deliver real value across the organisation.


To be successful as the Data Engineer, it is essential that you have previous experience in Python and SQL, particularly within the context of building and optimising ETL processes. Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Synapse, and CI/CD best practices would be desirable.


Data Engineer Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various sources.
  • Use tools such as PySpark, Pandas, Delta-Rs, Pandera, and Great Expectations for efficient and high-quality data flows.
  • Collaborate with analysts, architects, and business teams to deliver validated, structured datasets.
  • Troubleshoot data quality and operational issues, implementing improvements where needed.
  • Stay current with data engineering trends and best practices in CI/CD and cloud infrastructure.
  • Document processes and maintain system integrity, security, and compliance.

Data Engineer Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of Python and SQL for ETL development.
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Synapse, or other cloud data platforms.
  • Understanding of database design and data modelling.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern development practices.
