What you'll be doing

Are you ready to contribute to the evolution of our data pipelines for our B2C division? At Future, we are transforming our data-driven decision-making processes, and we are looking for a passionate and experienced Data Engineer to join us. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a creative environment and enjoys solving complex data challenges. You'll report to the Lead Data Engineer and be part of the wider Data Engineer team.

The Data & Business Intelligence team guides our organization to become more data-driven. Our go-to-market changes give us a competitive edge by ensuring visibility of objective performance data, empowering our teams to make rapid, informed decisions that enhance overall performance.

Important Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain and develop features of the data platform.
  • Deliver development projects efficiently.
  • Apply established software engineering practices and principles.
  • Take ownership of BAU processes and develop domain expertise.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards and policies.
  • Utilize CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (Terraform) for rapid deployment.

Experience that will put you ahead of the curve

  • Experience using Python on Google Cloud Platform for Big Data projects, including BigQuery, DataFlow (Apache Beam), Cloud Run Functions, Cloud Run, Cloud Workflows, Cloud Composer.
  • Strong SQL development skills.
  • Proven expertise in data modeling, ETL development, and data warehousing.
  • Knowledge of data management fundamentals and storage principles.
  • Familiarity with statistical models or data mining algorithms and applying these to business problems.

This is a hybrid role based in our Bath office, working three days onsite and two days remote.
