Job Description: Data Engineer (South London)
Company Overview:
We are a recruitment agency representing a respected client in the construction industry. Our client specializes in electrical, mechanical, data and fire safety solutions and is looking for a skilled Data Engineer to support ongoing projects in South London. The successful candidate will be involved in pulling and terminating Cat6a cables to ensure the smooth operation of the company’s network systems.
Position: Data Engineer
Location: South London
Hourly Rate: £20 per hour
Responsibilities:

  • Pull and terminate Cat6a cables as part of the network installation process.
  • Assist with the setup, testing, and troubleshooting of network equipment, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with project teams and other engineers to complete cabling installations in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Adhere to strict health and safety guidelines while performing all tasks.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of cabling work completed, including cable runs and terminations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any cabling-related issues that arise during installation or maintenance.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure all tasks are completed on schedule and to specification.
    Requirements:
  • Proven experience in pulling and terminating Cat6a cables for network installations.
  • Knowledge of basic networking principles and familiarity with related hardware.
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring all cabling is done neatly and efficiently.
  • Ability to follow health and safety procedures and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with team members and clients as needed.
  • Willingness to travel to different sites in South London.
    Salary and Benefits:
  • £20 per hour (paid weekly CIS).
