TheRolls-Royce Submarines business is faced with once in a generationopportunities for business growth. The Data Dashboard Engineer rolewill join the Service Data Centre to help drive value from dataacross the Submarines business. You will work with colleagues tounderstand business problems and needs, implement analysissolutions and visualisation outcomes that support improved decisionmaking for the users. You will understand how to apply technologiessuch as Cognos and PowerBI to solve data problems and to developinnovative dashboards and data tools, providing meaningful insightto our critical products, enabling us to support the in-servicesubmarine fleet more effectively. What youwill be doing Within this role you will be helping to enable a datadriven culture through the delivery of high quality dashboard andreporting using tools such as Cognos and PowerBI. - Provideknowledge to the business to help articulate the benefits of datareports and dashboards - Help to deconstruct and understandexisting reporting requirements - Advise on reporting requirementsand recommend analytics - Understanding how to analyse, cleanse,join and transform data to enable users to reliably deliver valuefrom data sources. - Planning, designing, documenting andconducting tests of the implementations, correcting errors andre-testing to achieve an acceptable result Who we're looking for:At Rolls-Royce we put safety first, do the right thing, keep itsimple and make a difference. To be successful in this role you will need: - Degree leveleducation in Mathematics, Scientific, Computing or Engineeringdiscipline or equivalent experience - Expertise knowledge andunderstanding of PowerBI, IBM Cognos Analytics suite, CognosFramework Manager, Reporting and Dashboard capability. - Experienceof working in an agile environment, within a self-organising team.- Experience of collaborating with diverse stakeholders, usingverbal and written communication methods - Appreciation of how tomanage and govern the data products including security, archiving,structure and storage - Experience in designing solutions usingdatabases and data storage technology - Experience of using SQL(desirable) We are an equal opportunities employer.
