WHAT YOU’LL DO:


We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer to join our Data and Analytics team and contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of scalable data solutions using Microsoft Fabric technologies. 


In this role you will focus on building robust data ingestion and transformation pipelines across our enterprise data platform, enabling reliable, high-quality data for analytics and operational use. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of data modelers, platform engineers, BI developers, and other data experts to build maintainable and performant solutions.


This position is well-suited for someone passionate about working with modern data tools, solving complex integration challenges, and building efficient, maintainable solutions in a collaborative environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE: 

Technical leadership in data ingestion, transformation, and availability for analytics in alignment with architectural standards, data governance, and best practices Create and optimise data models and schemas for optimal storage and retrieval performance Design, develop and maintain scalable pipelines using Microsoft Fabric (Data Factory, Spark, T-SQL) Develop and optimise both batch and streaming data transformations using Spark Notebooks Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines for reliability, performance and cost-effectiveness Define and improve technical requirements, standards and development patterns, document data architecture, data flows and technical designs for team use Collaborate with IT colleagues and business partners to clarify needs and deliver appropriate solutions.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

Proven expertise in data ingestion, transformation and orchestration Strong understanding of data modelling, schema design, data warehousing principles. Proficiency with Microsoft Azure/Fabric stack, including: Data Factory/Pipelines Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, OneLake ETL scenarios, Synapse Notebooks, Spark, T-SQL, Python Hands-on experience with relational (MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL databases. Familiarity with performance tuning, data partitioning, and large-scale data processing. Understanding data governance, data quality and security best practices. Strong problem-solving and analytical skill, effective collaboration and communication skills Optional but beneficial: exposure to CI/CD, DevOps practices. Proven experience with Azure or Microsoft Fabric-based data platforms Exposure to production-grade data solutions with performance and scalability in mind Relevant certifications in Microsoft Azure or Microsoft Fabric will be an advantage Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science / information technology, or related field
