Intellect Group are proud to be working with a Manchester-based consultancy in the logistics sector, who are looking to appoint a Data Engineer to join their growing team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a mid-to-senior level data professional who enjoys working at the core of data design, validation, and transformation. You’ll be joining a consultancy environment where your work directly impacts how logistics clients use data to improve operations, streamline processes, and unlock meaningful insights.

As a Data Engineer, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Designing and documenting database schemas, table definitions, and data structures
  • Analysing raw datasets to identify relationships and maintain data integrity
  • Building queries and processes to validate data quality and accuracy
  • Supporting data integration and transformation pipelines with AWS Glue
  • Working hands-on with Snowflake as the primary cloud data platform

About You

We’re looking for someone who can combine technical expertise with problem-solving skills, ideally with experience in consultancy or data-heavy industries.

Must-Have Experience:

  • Strong background in database schema design and data structures
  • Advanced SQL for validation and quality checks
  • Hands-on with AWS Glue and Snowflake
  • Ability to interrogate datasets and define standards for data integrity

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working with structured and semi-structured data formats (CSV, JSON, Parquet, etc.)
  • Knowledge of data modelling approaches (star schema, data vault)
  • Exposure to other cloud platforms (Azure Synapse, BigQuery)
  • Familiarity with orchestration tools (Airflow, Step Functions)
