About The Role

"Hello! I’m Nicolas, the Chief Product Officer at Next Gate Tech, and I’m looking for a passionate Data Engineer with a builder’s mindset to join our team. In this role, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining our data infrastructure, enabling seamless access to high-quality data and empowering our data processing and AI workloads. You will work alongside a diverse pool of engineers to build scalable data pipelines and innovative solutions to complex challenges."


Responsibilities include

  • Take ownership of the entire data life cycle and collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other engineers to deliver high-quality data solutions

  • Apply the latest advancements on data engineering and databases, including generative AI and vector databases

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines for collecting, processing, and storing diverse data sources (structured, semi-structured, and unstructured)

  • Build data models to support business decision-making and analytics

  • Build and optimize APIs to ensure efficient and reliable data access for internal and external stakeholders

  • Implement data quality checks and monitoring systems to maintain data integrity

  • Build distributed systems that power large-scale compute workloads


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

  • Experience in building large scale distributed data pipelines and processing large-scale datasets

  • Hands-on experience with data platforms, integration tools, data warehouses, and analytics in a Cloud environment, preferably Google Cloud

  • Data modeling and production experience with SQL, NoSQL, Graph or Vector databases

  • Familiarity with AI/ML infrastructure and frameworks is a plus

  • Proficiency in Python is a must

  • Proficient in RESTful API development and microservices architecture
