The role

The Data team is on a mission to make data their strength, and they are seeking an exceptional Data Business Analyst Lead to help them achieve this goal. They are in the midst of an exciting transformation, reshaping their ways of working and significantly increasing their Business Analysis presence to ensure stakeholder needs are understood and represented throughout each delivery.

This role will lead the Business Analysis team within Data & Analytics, fostering a fun, innovative, high-quality, and professional working environment. The Data Business Analysis team is responsible for ensuring key data business outcomes are defined, articulated, understood, and successfully delivered by the wider data team. This role will form and manage a high-performing team of Data Business Analysts, setting the standard by driving best practice ways of working and excellent collaboration.

More specifically

  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings to coach and mentor Business Analysts, ensuring timely and high-quality project delivery.
  • Develop and implement Business Analysis Patterns and Frameworks.
  • Foster effective collaboration within the Data team, COO team, and stakeholders.
  • Prioritise work based on business needs, driving backlog delivery and clear stakeholder communication.
  • Elicit and translate business needs into data requirements, ensuring fit-for-purpose data products.
  • Maintain requirement traceability and support queries and escalations, ensuring the programme remains on track.

What you will need

  • Proven experience in leading a Business Analysis team and conducting data analysis using tools like SQL or Python within Databricks.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the data domain, including governance, architecture, modelling, engineering, delivery, quality, master data, and the role of data in analytics, reporting, and business intelligence.
  • Familiarity with all stages of the software development life cycle and project management methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall.
  • Superior communication and influencing skills across all levels of the business, with strong leadership abilities and a structured problem-solving approach.
  • Robust knowledge of GDPR and its implications on data management, with experience in the Insurance Industry and understanding of regulatory bodies like the Financial Conduct Authority highly desirable.
  • Analytical and logical thinker with a results-oriented mindset, high standards, and a commitment to continual assessment and improvement, confident in advocating for the benefits of data-driven decision-making.
