The Role:

We are seeking a Data Architect to lead the design and implementation of a scalable enterprise data ecosystem for one of our high-profile clients in the sports and media sector. This role involves building and optimizing modern data infrastructure to support advanced analytics, performance insights, fan engagement, and real-time business intelligence. You will work at the intersection of data architecture and innovation, helping shape next-generation data capabilities.

What you will do:

  1. Define and lead the client’s data architecture strategy to ensure alignment with business objectives and long-term scalability.
  2. Design comprehensive data models to support operational, analytical, and predictive use cases.
  3. Integrate complex data sources, including IoT sensors, CRM systems, event platforms, and real-time data feeds.
  4. Establish and enforce data governance best practices, including privacy, security, and quality standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
  5. Collaborate with engineering, analytics, and business teams to ensure access to clean, reliable, and actionable data.
  6. Architect and optimize cloud-native data infrastructure, including lakes, warehouses, and pipelines on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  7. Implement real-time streaming and processing capabilities to power live insights and dynamic user experiences.
  8. Continuously evaluate new technologies and approaches to keep the client at the forefront of data-driven transformation.

Required Skills:

  1. 7+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or related roles.
  2. Deep understanding of scalable data system design including data lakes, warehouses, and ELT/ETL pipelines.
  3. Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  4. Strong grasp of real-time processing tools and frameworks (e.g., Kafka, Spark Streaming, Kinesis).
  5. Expert-level SQL skills and working knowledge of NoSQL systems.
  6. Experience working with BI tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
  7. Familiarity with data compliance regulations and secure architecture principles.
  8. Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have Skills:

  1. Experience working in fast-paced industries such as sports, media, or live events.
  2. Familiarity with IoT data pipelines, including ingesting and processing data from sensors or wearables.
  3. Experience implementing data mesh or data fabric architecture patterns.
  4. Exposure to graph databases or vector search (e.g., Neo4j, pgvector, Pinecone).
  5. Understanding of infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
  6. Knowledge of data cataloging and lineage tools (e.g., AWS Glue Data Catalog, Alation, Collibra).
  7. Background in supporting machine learning workflows and MLOps pipelines.
  8. Prior experience working with streaming video analytics or time-series data.

Education & Certifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  2. Relevant cloud/data certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty) are a plus.
