Like Morpheus, we’re looking for a flexible, adaptable Data Architect who can help transform our reality and crucially, how we do business. This role is being uploaded so we can recruit special talent working at the cutting edge of helping us improve what we do and how we do it.

Because this is a cross-business role, we need a special someone who can share their data knowledge, influence decision making and effortlessly deliver data solutions in complex environments.

As part of our Data Strategy, we’re recruiting for both this role and the additional new role of Data Engineer, we’re hoping that our new Data Architect can utilise their expertise, taking part in the recruitment of our Data Engineer!

A few key points from our role profile:

  • Lead on the delivery and implementation of the Group’s data strategy.
  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and efficient data architecture.
  • Develop and maintain enterprise data models, standards, and frameworks.
  • Enable seamless data integration across systems and applications aligned with business needs.
  • Support initiatives and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver improved data quality, enforce standards, optimise data for analytics, and oversee compliance with data governance policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide strategic guidance and expertise towards the continual improvement and development of the Group’s data strategy.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on data architecture in cross-functional projects.
  • Ensure alignment of data architecture with cloud, on-premises, or hybrid infrastructure strategies.

You’ll be a real problem solver, someone with a natural passion for data who is excited by translating business needs into technical data solutions and you’re ready to apply your understanding of data architecture principles, frameworks, and methodologies to make a lasting difference for colleagues and customers.

You\\\'ll support, develop and have line management responsibility for a Data Engineer, who will lead on the management and integration of data through ETL processes. You\\\'ll also be working seamlessly with other data teams, such as those delivering reporting, cyber security, data policies and data regulations.

You’ve the ability to work accurately, deliver high standards and work to tight deadlines which will make you a great fit for our forward thinking ICT Team.

So, what’s in it for me!

If you’re successful, you’ll be joining a dynamic organisation with an amazing culture. We offer competitive benefits that include agile working. The flexibility you may need wherever possible, mileage, private healthcare options, discount schemes and with a big emphasis on health and well-being. You’ll have great opportunities to grow and develop, personally and professionally, but the greatest reward will be knowing you’re helping people and communities across our region to thrive.

We’ve a state-of-the-art, flexible workspace so you’ll have both great people and a great environment around you. We’ll also provide you with an agile kit and access to Touchdown Points where you can plug in to a workstation, catch up with colleagues and attend local meetings.

We’re also proud to be awarded the coveted Investor in People Platinum award – the highest of IiP accreditation. The award recognises organisations which are passionate about making sure all employees get the best experience at work.

Machine Learning Hiring Trends 2026: What to Watch Out For (For Job Seekers & Recruiters)

As we move into 2026, the machine learning jobs market in the UK is going through another big shift. Foundation models and generative AI are everywhere, companies are under pressure to show real ROI from AI, and cloud costs are being scrutinised like never before. Some organisations are slowing hiring or merging teams. Others are doubling down on machine learning, MLOps and AI platform engineering to stay competitive. The end result? Fewer fluffy “AI” roles, more focused machine learning roles with clear ownership and expectations. Whether you are a machine learning job seeker planning your next move, or a recruiter trying to build ML teams, understanding the key machine learning hiring trends for 2026 will help you stay ahead.

Machine Learning Recruitment Trends 2025 (UK): What Job Seekers Need To Know About Today’s Hiring Process

Why Machine Learning Careers in the UK Are Becoming More Multidisciplinary

Machine learning (ML) has moved from research labs into mainstream UK businesses. From healthcare diagnostics to fraud detection, autonomous vehicles to recommendation engines, ML underpins critical services and consumer experiences. But the skillset required of today’s machine learning professionals is no longer purely technical. Employers increasingly seek multidisciplinary expertise: not only coding, algorithms & statistics, but also knowledge of law, ethics, psychology, linguistics & design. This article explores why UK machine learning careers are becoming more multidisciplinary, how these fields intersect with ML roles, and what both job-seekers & employers need to understand to succeed in a rapidly changing landscape.
